Claims that circulated about Katy Perry several years ago are being discussed again after Ruby Rose accused the singer of sexual assault.
Rose alleges that Perry sexually assaulted her in 2010 at a Melbourne nightclub called the Spice Market.
According to Rose, Perry put her vagina in Rose’s face while Rose was lying with her head on a friend’s lap. Rose says she “projectile vomited” afterwards.
A spokesperson for the ‘Firework’ pop star has rejected Rose’s account, saying: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.
“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

With Rose’s allegations now in the spotlight, past claims involving Perry, 41, have re-emerged—most notably those made by model and actor Josh Kloss.
In 2019, Kloss—who appeared in Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ music video filmed in 2010—alleged that she pulled his trousers down at a party in front of other people.
In a since-deleted Instagram post quoted by HuffPost, he wrote: “So I saw Katy a couple times after her break up with Russell [Brand]. This one time I brought a friend who was dying to meet her.
“It was Johny Wujek’s birthday party at moonlight roller way. And when I saw her, we hugged and she was still my crush.

“But as I turned to introduce my friend, she pulled my Adidas sweats and underwear out as far as she could to show a couple of her guy friends and the crowd around us, my penis. Can you imagine how pathetic and embarrassed I felt?”
Kloss also suggested he didn’t want to contribute to what he described as Perry’s ‘bs image’.
The incident Kloss described is believed to have taken place in 2012.
At the time, stylist Johny Wujek disputed Kloss’s version of events, saying Kloss had an “ongoing obsession with her since the day of filming that video”, referring to ‘Teenage Dream’.
Wujek added: “Katy would never do something like that,”
In a 2020 interview with The Guardian, Perry was asked about the various misconduct claims that had followed her over the years.

She said: “I don’t want to say ‘guilty until proven innocent’ but there’s no checks and balances: a headline just flies, right? And there’s no investigation of what it is.”
Rose’s allegations, however, have moved beyond social media: the Orange Is the New Black actor has reported the matter to police regarding Perry’s alleged actions in 2010.
Victoria Police have confirmed they are assessing the complaint.
Years after the alleged incident, with Perry touring Australia on the ‘Hello Katy’ tour, Rose interviewed her for Australian broadcast programme The 7pm Project. Rose ended the segment by noting that “the most exciting thing that’s happened to me all week is that Katy Perry now follows me on Twitter”.
Rose says that on the evening she alleges the assault occurred, the pair first appeared at Melbourne High School’s formal at the Grand Hyatt, where Perry sang along to ‘California Gurls’, which had only recently been released.
In a separate interview with news.com.au, Rose described what appears to relate to the same night, saying she ended up “vomiting on Katy’s foot”. She attributed the reaction to alcohol after 30 days of sobriety, but said that “nothing horrific happened”.
Rose also spoke at the Australian premiere of Perry’s concert film Katy Perry: Part of Me. She said: “I love Katy to bits and I was just with her at the hotel before.
“I get to see the real Katy and then I come and watch the film where everyone sees the real Katy.”

Rose—who is friends with Taylor Swift—later criticised Perry’s track ‘Swish Swish’, which some listeners interpreted as a swipe at the ‘Bad Blood’ singer.
Rose wrote on X: “Purposeful poop” to “bomb a petit” to a sloppy mess of writing over the top of Funkagenda..stop trying to make ‘Wit..I mean “fetch” happen.”
The post referenced Perry’s stated aim of making “purposeful pop”, played on the title of ‘Bon Appetit’, and alleged ‘Swish Swish’ sampled dance act Funkagenda. ‘Wit’ appeared to allude to Perry’s album Witness, while ‘fetch’ referenced Mean Girls.
Rose followed up: “I’ve always stood up for the people I love and against things I think are cheap or mean spirited. That’s not new.”
Two days later, she added: “Being mean doesn’t suit me and leaves me feeling dirty.
“Get so triggered when I think bullies don’t get held accountable and it makes me think I should say something.. but it’s not [my] place
“I have always believed strongly that Karma exists and the truth always surfaces however I’m not god and I can’t decide when or how that is.”
