Man left with permanent injuries by David Dobrik prank plans to ‘reveal the truth’ about the incident

Jeff Wittek has made it clear that he won’t be quiet any longer about his past collaborator, David Dobrik, from YouTube.

The 32-year-old recently took to social media to discuss an event that left him with severe health complications.

David Dobrik, renowned for his YouTube prank content, teamed up with Wittek in June 2020.

During the event, several influencers, collectively known as the ‘Vlog Squad’, were swung around on a rope connected to a crane over a body of water. When it was Wittek’s turn, he sustained significant injuries and has been coping with the aftermath ever since.

In a video posted on social media in 2021, which has since been deleted, Wittek is shown hanging from the rope while being swung by the crane, piloted by Dobrik.

As the crane started to decelerate, Wittek was violently thrown into the crane’s arm, leading to numerous injuries, including torn ligaments in his leg, a broken foot and hip, and a skull that was shattered in nine places, along with a damaged eye socket.

Wittek eventually filed a $10 million lawsuit against Dobrik but recently expressed on X that the full story has yet to be disclosed and that he plans to share it publicly.

“I deleted the documentary off YouTube. That s*** was made to protect David when I was still blind to who he really was (no pun intended).

“I’m recutting it and telling the truth this time. I don’t care about money. This kid has plenty from Snapchat and keeps pushing back trial,” Wittek mentioned in a recent post on X.

While some people on social media have been skeptical of Wittek’s remarks, arguing that he agreed to the stunt despite its consequences, Wittek responded to these criticisms in a follow-up post.

“I’m sick of people commenting saying you agreed like I was doing some jackass stunt for clout. The truth will come out soon.”

On May 21, Wittek criticized Dobrik by reaching out to Snapchat on X, accusing him of ‘smashing in his skull for a prank.’

When Snapchat’s account asked for further details, Wittek identified Dobrik as the responsible party and indicated that he is still undergoing surgeries as a result of the incident.
