Michael Phillips, who believes he may have the ‘world’s smallest penis,’ recently shared the challenges he faces on a daily basis.
At 38 years old, Michael, hailing from South Carolina, spoke on ITV’s This Morning about his intimate struggles.
In the United States, the average penis size is approximately 5.5 inches. However, Michael’s measures significantly less, at just 0.38 inches.
Concerns about penis size have notably impacted Michael’s life, a subject he kept private throughout his teenage years and into his twenties.
“Just more keeping it to myself, I was younger, teen, twenties, and stuff like that I tried to keep it to myself,” he shared.
“I was always single, even though I had friends they probably wondered why I wasn’t dating. I just didn’t want to go through that,” he explained.
He continued: “I kept it pretty secret. There was a few girlfriends like in high school or whatever they knew about it, but as far as I know it never got around.”
Beyond the realm of dating, Michael’s self-esteem has also been affected by his size.
“I can’t go out and have a one night stand. It also affects my ability to use the restroom and my confidence,” he stated.
During a conversation with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shepard, Michael mentioned that even the act of sitting down can present challenges.
“Even sitting down can be tricky with the clean up and everything,” he elaborated. “I’ve tried everything possible. You can be upfront, you can try to talk to somebody, sometimes you don’t say nothing at all.”
Despite his dating difficulties, Michael remains hopeful about finding a partner.
He commented: “Since I started talking about it, you don’t really get the perspective of women unless it’s brought out there, and there’s been a few stories about me and I’ve read comments and I’ve learned that there’s a huge population of people that just don’t care about that sort of thing.”
Michael received an official diagnosis of a micropenis in 2024 after consulting with a doctor.
According to VeryWellHealth, a micropenis is defined as having a length shorter than 3.67 inches when measured using stretched penile length (SPL).
In a 2024 discussion with the Sun, he said: “I went to the doctor about four or five months ago with concerns over my penis size. I was informed there is a condition called a micropenis.
“I was referred to a urologist. I was always aware it had been small, but wasn’t aware there was a condition for it. The main reason I went to the doctor was because my penis is actually too small to have sex at all.”
