Mandy Moore recently expressed admiration for Hilary Duff’s husband after he commented on Ashley Tisdale’s essay about distancing herself from a group of friends, realizing they weren’t the ‘right group’ for her during a personal revelation.
Ashley Tisdale wrote an essay for The Cut, titled ‘Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group’, where she discussed noticing that the group she was part of began excluding her from gatherings.
She explained: “At first, I tried not to take things personally. It’s not like people aren’t allowed to get together without me — and maybe there were perfectly good reasons that I hadn’t been invited. We were all busy, life was hectic. I told myself it was all in my head and it wasn’t a big deal.”
Speculation soon arose online as users tried to identify which celebrity moms could be involved in the mentioned group. Names like Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor, and Mandy Moore were floated around.

However, representatives for Tisdale refuted these rumors, stating that ‘there’s zero truth to what online “detectives” think they’ve cracked’, and clarified that the essay referred to a ‘completely different group of friends’.
The essay has sparked widespread discussion, and Mandy Moore commented on the situation, specifically praising Matthew Koma, Duff’s husband.
During a Concert for Altadena benefit, Koma attended Moore’s performance with her husband Taylor Goldsmith.
Koma, 38, captured footage of Moore singing her 1999 hit ‘Candy’ and shared it on Instagram Stories with the caption: “Candy babies @mandymooremm.”
Moore reposted the clip on her Story and expressed her appreciation for Koma.
She stated: “This feels incredibly fitting as @matthewkoma happens to be one of the most talented and generous humans I’m lucky to know (he literally gave my family a place to stay one year ago today when we evacuated). Love you, MB!!”

Previously, Koma had shared his thoughts on Tisdale’s essay by posting it on his Instagram Stories.
He wrote over the image: “A Mom Group Tell All Through A Father’s Eyes.
“When You’re The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.”
Koma jokingly concluded with: “Read my interview with @thecut.”
Certainly an eventful start to the year with some celebrity drama!
The publication has reached out to Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, and Ashley Tisdale for their comments on the matter.
