Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s daughter boldly comments on her dad’s 10 other kids

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey’s daughter Monroe recently shared her thoughts about her siblings on social media.

Despite his career in television and film, Nick Cannon is perhaps most recognized for his large family.

Over the past 14 years, Cannon has fathered 12 children with six different women: Mariah Carey, Brittany Bell, Alyssa Scott, Abby De La Rosa, Bre Tiesi, and LaNisha Cole.

The children are named Monroe, Moroccan, Golden, Powerful, Zion, Zillion, Zen, Legendary Love, Onyx, Rise, Beautiful, and Halo.

Cannon has been outspoken about his experiences as a father to many children and has expressed his willingness to have more, even though it deviates from the norm.

A few years ago, he shared his thoughts on parenthood with Dr. Laura Berman, saying: “You’re going to be a father of many. You’re a great influence, your lineage, your offspring are going to do great things.'”

Recently, his 14-year-old daughter Monroe posted on Instagram to express her views about having numerous siblings.

In a story shared on November 13, she clarified: “Clearing something up guys.

“I only have ONE brother who is Moroccan Cannon. I do have other half siblings from my dad but they are all many, many years younger than me.”

Monroe and her brother Moroccan are twins that Cannon shares with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey.

Monroe’s remarks prompted a lively discussion online regarding the closeness of Cannon’s children and the importance of half-sibling versus full-sibling relationships.

Cannon has previously commended his daughter for her maturity, telling PEOPLE that she acts as his informal therapist, saying ‘I got a lot of therapists, but she’s probably my best therapist,’ and that she has supported him during tough times.

He added: “She keeps me in check. She’s so pure and honest. […] She’s my oldest child. Even though they’re twins, she came out first and she lets everybody know it. She’s helped me keep it strong.”

Cannon has also admitted that most of his children were unplanned, and the size of his family now would have surprised his younger self.

Reflecting on his past, he stated: “As much as I was open to every single child that I have, I can’t say the majority of them were planned.

“If you would have told me in 2012 when I was still married and just diagnosed with Lupus that 10 years from now… that I would have 12 children, I would be like f**k out of here! There’s no way in the world that I would ever plan that.”
