Mark Ruffalo unintentionally reveals Avengers: Infinity War’s ending in an extremely awkward interview

Tom Holland is frequently blamed for not being able to keep Marvel secrets, but it was actually Mark Ruffalo who turned out to be the weak link regarding Avengers: Infinity War.

Indeed, one of the most eagerly awaited films of all time had a significant spoiler revealed by Ruffalo before audiences had the chance to watch it.

The incident occurred during an interview on Good Morning America, where Ruffalo appeared with his co-star Don Cheadle to promote the upcoming Marvel film.

The interview began smoothly as they talked about their characters and Ruffalo shared how he enjoyed playing the Hulk, particularly the ‘smashing’ scenes with Thor. However, Cheadle had to caution Ruffalo against revealing too much.

When prompted for a teaser, Cheadle advised: “I wouldn’t say too much… hey, it’s your career.”

Despite this sound advice, Ruffalo chose to disregard it.

He then blurted out: “Like every other Marvel movie, it doesn’t end well for the superheroes.”

Ruffalo could have stopped there, leaving things ambiguous, but he went on: “Wait until you see this next one, everybody dies.”

Cheadle tried to intervene, but it was too late. Even as Ruffalo attempted to backtrack, saying: “Not everybody… no. Was that…? Can we rewind that part?” the damage was done.

Life isn’t like a movie, and we can’t rewind time. The spoiler was out there, marking a memorable moment in Marvel history that fans still discuss today.

A clip of this cringeworthy moment was shared on Twitter recently. One user commented: “This was the best time to be a Marvel fan.”

Another user added: “He realized he was about to lose his job when Don Cheadle looked at him.”

Fortunately, Ruffalo did not lose his job over the slip, although Cheadle later joked that Ruffalo would be banned from doing press in the future.

In a conversation with Jimmy Kimmel after the interview went viral, Cheadle remarked: “I tried to stop him, you saw it. I was like ‘I wouldn’t say… a lot,’ you know?…

“If you listen very closely, he actually started to say the absolute truth, and then had to try to say ‘everybody’ after he almost said ‘half.’ He just messed the whole thing up!”

Despite Ruffalo’s spoiler, Infinity War still attracted audiences and grossed over $2 billion at the box office. It turned out to be a major success!
