Ryan Reynolds is admired worldwide for his comedic talent, but not everyone shares this opinion, particularly Martha Stewart.
Despite his roles in various comedy movies, a popular ’90s sitcom, and his presence in numerous ‘Funny Moments’ compilations online, Stewart is one who doesn’t find him amusing.
The 83-year-old writer and entrepreneur voiced her critique of the Deadpool & Wolverine actor during her guest appearance on the Rent Free game show. The show involved her answering several questions about her celebrity friends and acquaintances.
When asked to identify who she believed respondents thought would be the most entertaining company, the Homekeeping Handbook author mentioned her friend, Snoop Dogg.
She then suggested that Reynolds, 48, might be included on the list, but quickly criticized him, claiming he wasn’t particularly funny.
“He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face — Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?” she questioned.
“And you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life,” she continued. “No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”
Stewart shared that her preferred choices would be Brad Pitt and George Clooney.
Later in the show, she elaborated on her blunt opinion about Reynolds.
“He’s a good actor,” she stated. “He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again.”
“I’m going to get in trouble,” she remarked. “He’s my neighbor.”
It remains to be seen how this might affect their neighborly relationship.
The internet had mixed reactions to Stewart’s candid comments about Reynolds.
A user on X remarked: “Martha’s out here spilling tea for no reason and I love the chaotic energy.”
Another fan argued: “If someone can act funny, they are funny.”
Someone else commented: “I mean I’m all for a good drag but because somebody is your neighbor doesn’t mean they have to entertain you and make you cry with laughter when putting the bins out.”
Another user noted: “Hmm, how do you go on the internet and talk about your neighbors like aren’t you gonna go home and see them in the neighborhood the next day?”
Reynolds, upon hearing Stewart’s remarks, responded on Twitter.
He tweeted: “I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”
