Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton helped with the unveiling, sharing two snaps on the social media platform of himself posing alongside Stewart and her freshly dyed locks.

“Welcome to the rose gold era,” Appleton captioned the joint Aug. 9 post, which playfully used audio of Meryl Streep speaking as her character Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada 2 as “Vogue” by Madonna played in the background.

“Pull yourself together—we have work to do,” Stewart, 85, lip synced in the clip. “And by ‘we,’ I mean ‘you.'”

The original caption paired her iconic catchphrase with the pink shade. In a separate post, the hairstylist used Stewart’s signature saying to describe the look.

“I love that you can see the head form the “rose gold” wig came off of in the shot. 🙄,” a follower commented.

Some fans remained skeptical about whether the transformation was real or a temporary wig moment.

“Amazing what rose gold hair color does for the skin tone. 🩷” one commenter wrote. The pink is a bigger departure from Stewart’s usual blonde than her last Appleton makeover.

In January, the hairstylist gave her a “mocha mousse” transformation, adding light brown tones to her hair before she later returned to a lighter shade.

Stewart, who turned 85 on August 3, thrilled fans with her unexpected new look.

In the viral moment, Stewart has shown no signs of slowing down her style evolution. Her willingness to experiment comes weeks after she spoke openly about her approach to aging at her milestone birthday. “Eighty-five is just a number,” she told PEOPLE of her milestone age in her recent cover story.

“That’s all I consider it.” The businesswoman has made sure to take care of herself through the years, telling PEOPLE, “I have good genes. My mom looked great at 95. We eat well. We don’t drink very much. We don’t smoke. We eat healthy food.

“I have not had any plastic surgery at all. I don’t think I need it,” Stewart told People magazine.

She went on to clarify details about cosmetic procedures she does use. “I go to Dr Dan Belkin in New York City. He is a very superb dermatologist. And I use a little bit of filler. [I go there] once every four months for touch-ups.”

Stewart also shared her broader beauty philosophy in that same interview. “My goal is to keep learning about everything,” She added when questioned what the best part about fame and everything she’d built was, “I couldn’t care less about being rich and famous. All I want to be is comfortable, have beautiful gardens, have enough money to support my family and treat my friends well. [Pauses] I would like a yacht — a big yacht.

I don’t have that yet.”
