Meghan Markle shared a final glimpse of her California garden life just days before relocating to the UK.
The Duchess of Sussex, 45, appeared on her As Ever brand’s Instagram page Saturday in a sun-drenched photo taken at her and Prince Harry’s Montecito estate. She wore a white T-shirt, matching skirt and an oversized sunhat while picking vegetables from the garden.
“Soaking in the last of summer in the garden,” the brand captioned the post, which had comments turned off.

The timing placed the photo only days before Markle, Harry, 41, and their children — Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 — touched down in the UK last Wednesday. The family reportedly flew privately from California, landing at Birmingham Airport around lunchtime. Reports said the 10-hour flight cost approximately $12,000 per hour.
A source said the couple chose private aviation specifically so they could bring their family dogs across the Atlantic.
Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced plans to return to the UK for an “extended period,” six years after stepping back from royal duties and relocating to North America. King Charles III, 77, was notified of the move days before the public learned of it.
The family reportedly relocated to be closer to Charles, who is battling cancer, and to help Archie and Lilibet build relationships with royal relatives. Both children are expected to begin school in England next week.
Harry and the former “Suits” actress will reside in “a non-royal residence” and “continue with their business enterprises,” the US reports said.

The Montecito property, purchased for a reported $14 million, had served as the family’s primary residence since their departure from royal life in 2020. The garden photo marked a quiet farewell to that chapter, with Markle harvesting produce she had cultivated on the California coast.
The As Ever brand, which Markle launched this year, has used her personal lifestyle imagery as part of its marketing. The Saturday post carried no mention of the impending move, focusing solely on the seasonal moment.

The Sussexes are scheduled to settle into their new English residence before Archie and Lilibet’s school term begins.
