Meghan Trainor addresses ‘toxic’ mom group after Ashley Tisdale’s criticism and fans echo her sentiments

Meghan Trainor has responded to the ‘toxic’ mom group speculations after Ashley Tisdale’s recent remarks.

Ashley Tisdale, known for her role in High School Musical, sparked considerable attention with an essay she wrote for The Cut titled ‘Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group.’ In this piece, she detailed her experience of feeling ‘frozen out’ by a group of moms with whom she was supposedly close.

Published on January 1, the essay revealed that Tisdale, a mother of two, began to feel excluded by the group she belonged to.

“I was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me,” Tisdale shared in her essay.

“Initially, I tried not to take things personally. It’s not like people aren’t allowed to get together without me — and maybe there were perfectly good reasons that I hadn’t been invited. We were all busy, life was hectic. I told myself it was all in my head and it wasn’t a big deal.”

The internet quickly buzzed with attempts to identify the members of the group in question, with many suggesting that Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor, and Mandy Moore could be part of it.

However, representatives for Tisdale denied these claims, stating that ‘there’s zero truth to what online “detectives” think they’ve cracked’ and clarified that the essay was actually about a ‘completely different group of friends’.

Adding to the drama, Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, took a jab at Tisdale’s piece for The Cut by posing in a photo that mimicked the cover.

Over the image, he wrote: “When You’re The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.” Ouch.

Now, Meghan Trainor, best known for ‘All About That Bass,’ has addressed the situation on TikTok. In a video where she appears to be searching the internet, Trainor captioned it ‘me finding out about the apparent mom group drama’.

Her new song ‘Still Don’t Care’ played in the background of the TikTok, which has now garnered over 2,000,000 views.

The video has sparked mixed reactions. One commenter said, “This proves Ashley’s point.”

Another user noted, “This reaction, Hilary’s hubby’s reaction & Mandy’s reaction is giving high school. Ashley was right.”

“Oh… I think you just proved her point,” echoed another. Someone else added, “Well this backfired, we believe Ashley now.”

Despite many claiming the clip ‘proved’ Tisdale’s point, some defended Trainor.

“Why is everyone dissing? Ashley made it public. They have a right to defend themselves,” one person argued.

Another said, “No this shows me that Meghan just doesn’t care about drama and wants no part of it. Doesn’t show me who is right or wrong.”

Trainor’s representative has been contacted for comment.
