MGK offers rare glimpse into ‘toxic’ relationship with Megan Fox

Machine Gun Kelly recently shared a glimpse into his intense and sometimes ‘toxic’ relationship with Megan Fox, acknowledging that their love story has been both painful and powerful.

During his appearance on Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde Podcast, the artist, whose real name is Colson Baker, discussed how his former fiancée from the Transformers movies influenced him to confront aspects of himself he had been avoiding.

Their turbulent relationship concluded in the same month they publicly announced expecting their first child together, marking the 39-year-old actor’s fourth child, in November 2024. Fox welcomed Saga Blade Fox-Baker into the world in March of this year, making it MGK’s second child.

“When you have a twin flame relationship, you’re essentially looking at a mirror at all of the things that you’ve run away from your whole life,” he explained. “It’s not this grand waltz of love and gentility.

“It’s really, really dark at first – and it’s toxic.”

Elaborating on why their relationship was toxic, he used an analogy that fans of Daniel Radcliffe might appreciate.

“Do you watch Harry Potter? Well, remember that mirror where he could look in and he could see his parents and all that stuff? It’s like looking at that, but instead you’re seeing all of the things that you’ve ran away from this whole time,” he described.

“And all the things that those have numbed. And the music and successes have numbed and you’re forced to either look away and lose, or face and embrace.

“That is the endless waltz that we are constantly in with each other.”

The 34-year-old musician also mentioned that meeting Fox altered his perception of life entirely.

“When I saw her eyes for the first time, it was like I had a telescope to every secret in the universe,” MGK added.

Discussing the reason behind their breakup, the rapper revealed that his heart was not in the right place.

He shared with Bonnie Xo: “I was leading into how powerful the heart is because you can play with every other sense that you have in your body, but if your heart isn’t there…

“It’s like this example of, you know, being an an archer and you can be so technically skilled and all of these – your precision could be perfect, right?

“And all that stuff – but if you switch to an uncomfortable place like a shaky bridge; if you’re not shooting from your soul then all that precision, all the technicalities that you’ve mastered like – nothing beats a shot from a soul.”
