Michelle Trachtenberg, famous for her roles in Gossip Girl and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has had her final Instagram post turned into a tribute page by fans after her unexpected passing at age 39.
The actress was discovered deceased in her New York apartment on Wednesday, February 26.
Her family has confirmed the tragic news, releasing a statement: “It is with great sadness to confirm that Michelle Trachtenberg has passed away. The family requests privacy for their loss. There are no further details at this time.”
For religious reasons, her family has chosen not to have an autopsy performed, leaving the specifics of her death undetermined.
The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner respected the family’s wishes, as there was no indication of foul play in Trachtenberg’s death.
In the aftermath of her passing, numerous tributes have surfaced, especially under her last Instagram post, where fans express their condolences and share warm memories.
Her last update on Instagram, shared on February 18, featured her at the National Geographic Channel’s Killing Kennedy premiere held at the Saban Theatre in California.
