Mike Tyson Discloses Reason for Aggressively Slapping Jake Paul on Eve of Their Match

The much-anticipated Netflix showdown between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is almost upon us, and the drama between the two contenders is already intense.

At last night’s (14 November) weigh-in, tensions boiled over when Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul across the face as they faced each other.

During the confrontation, Paul came close to Tyson and was met with a slap. The impact caused Paul to stagger backward while security intervened to separate the two.

Paul, undeterred, taunted the 58-year-old by blowing kisses as he was escorted away. You can see the incident below:

After the slap, the YouTuber remarked: “I didn’t even feel it. He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf. Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap, buddy, but tomorrow you’re getting knocked the f*** out.”

Tyson later explained his side of the story, revealing what provoked his reaction.

In an interview with The Post, Tyson said: “I was in my socks and he had on shoes. He stepped on my toe because he is a f***ing a**hole. I wanted to think it happened by accident.

“But now I think it may have happened on purpose. I was in a lot of pain. I had to reciprocate.”

Observers noticed the moment Paul stepped on Tyson’s toes, leading many to speculate about the cause of the altercation, with fans sharing their thoughts online.

One fan speculated: “It looks like the reason Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul was over something as simple as stepping on his foot. While it might sound like a minor thing, in the heat of the moment, especially with the tension between the two, it could’ve been enough to spark a reaction.

“Tyson’s known for his fiery temper, and Jake Paul, with his brash persona, is never far from controversy. It’s a reminder that in the world of combat sports, things can escalate quickly—even over small stuff.”

Many are wondering why Tyson has chosen to return to the ring after nearly two decades, especially against an amateur like Paul.

Despite the potential for a large payout from the fight, Tyson insists that money is not his motive.

When questioned by LADbible Group about the financial impact of the fight, Tyson said: “This fight is not going to change my life financially. If I did it for free, it’s not going to change my life financially. My wife is constantly telling me, you do not need to do this fight.”

He further explained his motivation for the high-profile match: “This is what I want to do, this is me. I’m seeking my glory.”

Fans can catch the live action of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight on Netflix on Friday, November 15. The fight is set to start at 8 pm ET, 7 pm CT, 5 pm PT, and 1 am GMT.
