Mike Tyson reveals shocking details about his experience during Jake Paul fight

Mike Tyson’s bout with Jake Paul was a major talking point when it occurred, but the former heavyweight champion has recently made an unexpected statement.

The matchup between Iron Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul captured widespread attention.

Nevertheless, the fight faced criticism at various stages for not delivering the level of excitement that many had anticipated.

The two squared off on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where Jake Paul emerged victorious.

Since neither fighter was knocked out, the judges determined the winner based on points, with Paul securing a decisive victory.

Statistics released post-fight indicated that 58-year-old Tyson landed only 18 punches, while the 27-year-old Paul successfully hit Tyson 78 times.

In an interview on Fox Sports Radio, Tyson expressed that his recollection of the fight is somewhat unclear.

He mentioned: “I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out a little.

“I remember coming back from the first round and Jake is doing some kind of … I don’t know what he was doing (leans forward pretending to bow) and that’s the last thing I remember.”

This incident took place in the final round, just before the fight ended with Paul bowing to Tyson as a gesture of respect.

Tyson also pondered his decision to participate in the fight.

He continued: “I don’t remember it. But my body was really sore (after the fight). My chest, my stomach was really sore.”

“The day after I woke up and said to my wife, ‘Why did I do that?’ I just don’t know what the hell was going on.”

Shortly after the fight, Tyson issued a statement expressing his satisfaction with his participation despite the outcome.

He stated: “This is one of those situations when you lost but still won.

“I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.

“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs (11kg) in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

“To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”
