Miley Cyrus playfully put ‘superfan’ Alex Cooper on blast during an on-stage moment, suggesting it was a bit ‘creepy’ that the podcast host ended up living right next door to her.
On Monday (March 23), a host of famous faces headed to Los Angeles for the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special at the El Capitan Theatre.
The Disney+ event, which arrives on the platform on March 24, was hosted by Cooper, 31 — widely known as the voice behind the hit Call Her Daddy podcast.
Among those in the crowd were Celebrity Big Brother UK’s JoJo Siwa, along with Jaden and Willow Smith, all there to see Cyrus, 33, celebrate and revisit the Disney Channel phenomenon she led from 2006 to 2011.
Cyrus — who has previously sat down with Cooper for an interview — spoke about choosing the podcaster to front the one-off anniversary show, but did it with a teasing edge.
“Alex being a super-fan, kinda creepy,” the ‘Rockstar’ singer joked.

“She’s also my neighbor which is also creepy.
“She got money and then she moved next door to me so there was no other host… Yeah, it was weird.”
Even with the jokes, Cyrus made sure to give Cooper credit, thanking her for being ‘insanely dedicated’ to Hannah Montana and for committing to the role as host.
Cooper, who also served as a producer on the anniversary special, previously told Variety she’s a proud ‘fangirl’ — and believed she was more than ready for hosting duties.
Online, viewers quickly weighed in on Cyrus’ comments. One Reddit user wrote: “Miley dgaffffff this is one of the funniest f****n things I’ve ever seen lmaoooo.”
Another added: “I loooooove a celebrity who calls out another famous person by name when they do some weird s**t,” a second reported.

A third chimed in: “Too many people in the industry are worried about being perfectly media trained all the time. Give me more of this!!!”
Someone else commented: “I feel like she would be a good stand up comic too.”
While fellow Hannah Montana cast members Jason Earles and Cody Linley showed up for the 20th Anniversary Special premiere, Emily Osment did not attend.
Osment, 34 — who played Cyrus’ on-screen best friend Lily Truscott — said she couldn’t make it because she was working on her upcoming project, George & Mandy’s First Marriage.
“I wanted to say hello and thank you to everybody that has stuck by us for all these years,” she said in an Instagram video.
“So grateful that you guys all still love this show. I’m so proud to be a part of it.”
In her caption, Osment shared that the teen sitcom ‘changed’ her life, and said the experience helped instill ‘discipline, patience, timing and respect’.

“I can’t tell you what your sweet messages mean to me and how lucky I feel to have been apart of this once in a generation goliath of a television show.
“Thank you for letting me into your living rooms and I hope to still be there many years from now.”
Earles, now 48, recently reflected on his early days with the series and admitted he feared he could be ‘fired and recast’ after keeping a significant detail quiet while auditioning.
“When I auditioned for the show, I lied to them and told them I was 18 years old,” the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actor admitted.
In reality, Earles was a decade older than the age his character Jackson Stewart was meant to be — and he was already married at the time to his first wife, Jennifer.

“I remember one of the higherup network executives showed up on show night and he was like, ‘Hey, so, you’re 28.’ And I was like, ‘I am,’” he said on the Best of Both Our Worlds: The Official, Unofficial Hannah Montana Podcast.
“And he’s like, ‘So, you’re married? And I was like, ‘Yeah, that girl that I keep making out with, yeah. that’s my wife.’ And he was like, ‘Uh, any more any more secrets? Anything we should know?”
The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special begins streaming on Disney+ on March 24.
