Miley Cyrus recently shared that she was hospitalized last year due to an unexpected infection that surprised her doctors.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s show on May 22 to discuss her new work, she provided some intriguing insights into her recent film and album project, Something Beautiful.
The star explained her experience filming on the Walk of Fame, which turned out to be less glamorous than one might imagine.
Cyrus recounted how her efforts landed her in the hospital, much to the doctors’ astonishment at the cause of her condition.
She stated, “I filmed this video in October and by November at Thanksgiving I was put in ICU for a moment, just for a moment.”
Cyrus added, “But it was mostly because it was Thanksgiving, there was a lot of people in the ER, people choking on turkey legs or whatever.”
She described how her leg started to deteriorate, particularly around the kneecap. The doctor asked her if she knew why she had such a severe infection, prompting her to explain her actions.
Cyrus humorously imitated her dance moves from the music video while she spoke.
She shared a light-hearted moment about the doctor’s reaction upon learning what she had been doing.
Cyrus continued, “To have a surgeon look at you and say ‘yuck’… like they open up cadavers, they see inside the guts of humans and they are looking at me telling me that I am disgusting. They do brain operations.”
She also mentioned that the floor wasn’t cleaned before the shoot, meaning she was in direct contact with the Walk of Fame floor.
Cyrus joked about the budget constraints that prevented her from renting the area, leading her to film in the middle of the night.
She remarked that this decision might have been regrettable, feeling as though it was almost her last day.
Cyrus added, “I wanted this video to be so fabulous but now I’ve just told everyone such a filthy…”
Kimmel interjected to commend her for her ‘sacrifice,’ and they humorously suggested that she nearly sacrificed her life for the video, encouraging people to watch it.
The release of Something Beautiful is scheduled for May 30, with a theatrical debut anticipated on June 12.
