Millie Bobby Brown addresses her relationship with David Harbour in light of ‘bullying’ speculations

Millie Bobby Brown recently discussed her bond with David Harbour and her thoughts on the concluding season of Stranger Things.

Earlier in the month, there was a report claiming that Millie Bobby Brown had issues with her costar David Harbour, alleging that he had bullied her on set.

Yet, just a few days after this report surfaced, the two were seen cheerful and close on the red carpet at the Stranger Things season five premiere in Los Angeles on November 6.

Neither actor has directly addressed the rumors, but videos capturing their amiable interactions circulated on social media, leading many fans to dismiss any notion of a conflict.

In a conversation with the Hollywood Reporter, Brown elaborated on why maintaining a united front among her co-stars is crucial, despite headlines hinting at discord.

She stated: “We’ve been doing that for the last 10 years.

“I mean, we have always been united in that. We love this show with everything, and we value our friendship more than anything.”

Brown also shared insights into her relationship with Harbour.

In her interview with the publication, she expressed how ‘so nice and really exciting’ it was to reunite with Harbour for the series’ last season.

She added: “It was quite nostalgic because it reminded me so much of season two and three, where we’re both kind of butting heads and she’s growing up, she’s trying to find her own voice and he’s trying to parent, and that dynamic definitely comes back into play once again, and I’m really excited for people to see that.

“And I think some of people’s favorite scenes of Eleven are Ele and [Hopper], so I’m really excited to have that come to screen once again.”

Following the initial report, co-creator Ross Duffer addressed the Hollywood Reporter and dismissed much of the speculation.

He remarked: “Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal onset matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”

Stranger Things director and executive producer Shawn Levy also commented on how the production team handles bullying concerns, in reference to circulating rumors.

He explained that they take extensive measures to ensure ‘everyone feels safe and respected’.

Levy further stated: “You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
