Miss Panama Reacts to Onstage Mix-up During Viral Pageant Incident

Miss Panama Isamar Herrera humorously responded after becoming an internet sensation due to an awkward error this week.

We all have those cringe-worthy moments that make us grateful they’re not witnessed by others.

However, in today’s digital age, such blunders can quickly become viral sensations.

It’s often said that it’s not about the mistake, but how you handle it that truly counts.

Herrera decided to embrace the humorous side of her slip-up when she mistakenly thought she had reached the finals of Miss Grand International.

On Saturday, October 18, a total of 76 contestants were narrowed down to 22 finalists at the esteemed pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The host, Matthew Deane, announced the finalists and confirmed the inclusion of Paraguay’s contestant.

Amidst the applause, Miss Panama’s Herrera mistakenly advanced to the stage, confidently walking past her fellow contestants.

Overjoyed with her perceived success, she posed for about 10 seconds, with nearly another 30 seconds elapsing before the mistake was realized.

“Aaah, I beg your pardon, I announced Miss Grand Paraguay,” Deane clarified about the mix-up.

He further remarked, “There is a lot of noise in this hall, packed full of fans from all over the world.”

The video has since gone viral, causing viewers to experience secondhand embarrassment.

Although Herrera did not make it to the finals, she has embraced her new internet fame.

On Instagram, Herrera shared a humorous meme created by Todo a Dollar, Panama’s largest retail store.

The meme depicted a Powerpuff Girl answering the phone with the line: “Hello, Paraguay?”

The response was: “No, Panama… goodbye.” The brand humorously added: “Let there be no confusion.”

“Keep your ears clean with Protouch,” referencing a brand of cotton buds – implying that clearer ears might have prevented the mistake!

Herrera shared the meme with the caption: “They’re killing it @todoadollar1,” along with a laughing face emoji. “Loved it!”

In another post, Herrera shared a video of herself scrolling through the headlines discussing her.

She added an awkward grin emoji, a laughing emoji, and the Panama flag.

Her lighthearted reaction has likely won her more fans, proving that a good-natured response can be endearing.

As a side note, Emma Tiglao from the Philippines won Miss Grand International, marking her country’s second consecutive victory.
