Miss Thailand contestant’s teeth awkwardly fall out while giving speech onstage

A Miss Thailand contestant has been praised for her professionalism after her teeth awkwardly fell out while she was giving a speech onstage.

Losing your teeth mid-sentence is never ideal — but it’s the kind of thing you’d much rather deal with in private than in front of a packed venue and a live broadcast.

That nightmare scenario unfolded for 18-year-old Kamolwan Chanago during the Miss Grand Thailand 2026 preliminaries on Wednesday (March 25), when she was delivering a short onstage introduction.

Footage aired on GrandTV shows Chanago stumbling over her words as her veneers shifted and started to come loose, leaving her momentarily struggling to continue speaking.

She briefly turned away, seemingly out of embarrassment, but quickly regrouped. Rather than letting the moment derail her, she carried on confidently — even continuing to present her pink outfit to the crowd in Bangkok and to viewers watching online.

She also paused to pose for photographers before exiting the stage, and the clip soon spread on social media, where many people applauded how calmly she reacted under pressure.

“She handled this better than most of us handle a bad hair day. Is this the most iconic pageant moment ever?” one person commented, as per the Associated Press.

“Kamolwan Chanago’s composure was honestly iconic,” another person said on X.

While a fellow Miss Thailand viewer stated: “She should win the pageant for displaying such poise during what could also have been a medical emergency had she swallowed them or they fell and she tripped on them.”

And a fourth person quipped: “How embarrassing. I would die. It’s so impressive she carried on like nothing had happened.”

Afterward, a Miss Grand International spokesperson addressed the incident in a statement to People Magazine, emphasizing that Chanago remained composed and that the program continued without issue.

“During her on-stage introduction, Kamolwan Chanago experienced a minor and unexpected incident in which her veneer teeth became dislodged.

“She handled the situation with professionalism and composure, and the event continued smoothly without disruption. We are proud of her confidence and stage presence throughout the competition.”

It’s not yet known whether the widely shared moment will have any impact on the final outcome. Miss Grand Thailand 2026 features 77 contestants, with the winner set to be chosen during the finale on Saturday (March 28).

Whoever takes the crown will go on to represent Thailand at Miss Grand International 2026, scheduled for October in India.
