Nolan Gould is now roommates with his former “Modern Family” co-star Ariel Winter.
The actor, 28, who played Luke Dunphy across all 11 seasons of the ABC hit, has moved in with Winter, 27, years after the sitcom wrapped in April 2020. Winter shared the living arrangement in a recent interview, describing the setup as a natural evolution of their longtime friendship.
“Living with Nolan is so fun,” Winter told the outlet. She emphasized that their bond has deepened now that they’re navigating adulthood together rather than just sharing a set.
“Honestly, it’s so sweet and it’s so fun. It’s just wonderful to live with Nolan and to get to spend so much time with him. Obviously I spent so much time with him on the set, but that’s different,” she continued. “We’re real people now doing adult stuff. And we just love it.”

The roommate situation carries an extra layer of connection: Winter is currently dating one of Gould’s close friends, a detail she also disclosed. Gould, meanwhile, is in a relationship with singer Sadie Jean. The four frequently double date together, turning their professional past into an intertwined social circle.
Gould’s path to this point began remarkably early. He started acting in commercials at age three and landed his first film credit in 2006 at just eight years old. When “Modern Family” premiered in 2009, he was ten. By the time the series concluded after 11 seasons, he had turned 21.
Since the show’s end, Gould has accumulated several screen credits. He appeared on “Grey’s Anatomy,” starred in the 2023 film “Miranda’s Victim,” and featured in “The Nana Project.” His most recent work came earlier this year with the 2026 short film “The Liars of Black Mountain Road,” appearing alongside Millie Gibbons and Bill Weldon.

The Gould-Winter household isn’t the only “Modern Family” tie the actor has maintained. Gould remains close with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who played Mitchell Pritchett on the series. Over the New Year, Ferguson, Gould and Winter gathered for a meal together, which Ferguson documented on social media.
“New year, new lunch with the fam,” Ferguson captioned the photo, a nod to the enduring bond among cast members six years after the finale aired. The post drew enthusiastic responses from fans delighted by the ongoing connection.
Despite their characters having a noticeable age gap on screen, Gould and Winter are separated by only about a year in real life. Their offscreen relationship has apparently strengthened since leaving the structured environment of a television set behind.
The pair’s current arrangement represents a full-circle moment for two performers who essentially grew up alongside one another in front of millions of viewers, now choosing to share space as working adults in Los Angeles.

Gould was born on October 28, 1998, and marked his 28th birthday last fall.
