Mother accused of selling her six-year-old son at grocery store, claiming possession, now wanted for murder

A mother is currently sought by the FBI in connection with the possible murder of her disabled son, who has been missing since 2022.

The FBI is actively searching for 39-year-old Cindy Rodriguez Singh, who is a suspect in the disappearance and potential murder of her son, Noel Alvarez.

FBI Dallas announced that on October 31, 2023, Cindy Rodriguez Singh was charged with capital murder in the District Court of Tarrant County, Fort Worth, Texas.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Rodriguez Singh.

A few days after the initial charge, on November 2, 2023, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Rodriguez Singh following her charge of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.

Noel, who suffered from mental disabilities and chronic lung disease, was last seen in October 2022.

In March of last year, the Everman Police Department conducted a welfare check for the child; however, according to FBI Dallas, Rodriguez Singh “lied to officers when she explained that the boy was living with his biological father in Mexico, and had been there since November 2022.”

A few days later, Rodriguez Singh, her husband, and six other young children boarded a flight to India, without Noel, raising further concerns.

According to a search warrant reviewed by Law&Crime, Rodriguez Singh allegedly told Noel’s grandmother that she had sold him to a woman at Fiesta Market.

Just days before Noel’s apparent death, his mother referred to him as “evil, possessed, or having a demon in him,” said Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer.

Spencer stated: “We are truly unified with the common goals of seeking justice for Noel and sharing the message that there is no such thing as a throw-away child.”

During a press conference, Dallas FBI Special Agent in Charge Chad Yarbrough spoke about the bureau’s concerns but expressed confidence in locating Rodriguez Singh.

He said: “Cindy Rodriguez Singh is wanted for allegedly murdering her own young son. I am confident that the combination of publicity, significant reward offering, and the team of experienced investigators assembled by the FBI Fort Worth Resident Agency violent crime squad, Everman Police Department, Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, and Texas DPS-Texas Rangers will lead to her arrest. The community of Everman needs justice for Noel.”

Rodriguez Singh is described as being 5-foot-1 to 5-foot-3, weighing between 120 to 140 pounds, with a medium complexion, brown eyes and hair, and tattoos on her back, right arm, hand, and both legs.

Anyone with information on Rodriguez Singh is urged to contact the FBI Dallas field office immediately.
