YouTuber MrBeast has opened up about the small amount of money he keeps in his personal bank account, even though his net worth suggests he has ‘billionaire’ status.
Known for trapping a man inside a burning house and bringing Squid Game to life, Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, has become one of the most well-known figures on YouTube.
His estimated net worth of at least $2.6 billion, according to Fortune, isn’t solely due to his YouTube videos and sponsorships.
In addition to his YouTube channel, which boasts 460 million followers, Donaldson has launched a successful restaurant called MrBeast Burger, a chocolate brand, and a line of lunchables. He also has a series on Amazon Prime Video, with its second season released this year. Fortune estimates his entertainment ventures are collectively worth a staggering $5 billion.
Despite the wealth flowing from his channels and businesses, MrBeast reportedly doesn’t have much cash accessible in his own bank account, leading to him even ‘borrowing money’.

Donaldson shared with the Wall Street Journal earlier this year that he has so ‘little money’ that he’s been ‘borrowing money’.
He finds it ‘funny’ to discuss his ‘personal finances, because no one ever believes anything’ he says.
In reality, he claims ‘technically, everyone’ watching his interview has more cash in their bank account than he does. How so?
If you exclude the equity value of his company, MrBeast states he’s left with an amount that isn’t enough for a ‘McDonald’s in the morning’.
Despite the frequent discussions about his ‘billionaire’ status, Donaldson clarified: “That’s net worth. I have negative money right now.”
Unlike most people who might worry about having too little money for McDonald’s, Donaldson doesn’t seem too concerned.

He explained: “I wake up, I just work…I’m just so busy working I don’t really think about my personal bank account.
“I’m just laser-focused on making the greatest videos as possible, and building the business as big as possible.”
This isn’t the first time MrBeast has discussed his personal finances.
In May of last year, Dextero posted about MrBeast being the ‘only billionaire under 30 to not have inherited his wealth’.
I personally have very little money because I reinvest everything (I think this year we’ll spend around a quarter of a billion on content). Ironically i’m actually borrowing $ from my mom to pay for my upcoming wedding lol
But sure, on paper the businesses I own are worth a lot.
