MrBeast gained rare permission to explore the Great Pyramids of Giza, uncovering fascinating elements that left his audience in awe.
Known as Jimmy Donaldson, the YouTuber chronicled his 100-hour experience traversing the ancient wonders of Egypt.
Accompanied by Dr. Zahi Hawass, a prominent Egyptologist and former Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, the team was allowed into parts of the pyramids—tombs, tunnels, and chambers—that have been off-limits to the public for many years. Throughout the journey, Dr. Hawass provided insights into the pyramids’ origins, dispelling myths with compelling evidence and historical illustrations.
The exploration commenced within the Great Pyramid of Giza, where they examined a royal tomb thought to have once housed a pharaoh’s mummy.
“4,600 years ago, this chamber may have contained the king’s mummified body,” MrBeast narrated in the video, adding: “This is where the pharaoh was buried.”
Their adventure took them to rarely-seen sites, like the submerged Tomb of Osiris, a location ‘very few humans have ever been’.
Dr. Hawass elaborated on the Tomb of Osiris, noting its symbolic ties to the afterlife, and narrated legends claiming it was ‘a gateway to the underworld’.
MrBeast commented: “This sarcophagus is allegedly the portal to the underworld and virtually no humans have ever been here before.”
Exciting, isn’t it? Indeed, it is!
Due to ‘low oxygen levels,’ the group had to shorten their exploration of the tomb and moved on to the Great Sphinx of Giza, surrounded by age-old rumors of hidden treasures.
At this iconic location, MrBeast left his mark by depositing a ‘letter for the future’ alongside a unique golden item—a ‘Gold Swarm’ collectible valued at $10,000.
“I guess the internet conspiracy theories are right because the Sphinx definitely has gold in it now, thanks to the rarest Swarm in the world,” he quipped.
The video rapidly gained over 65 million views on YouTube, with fans expressing awe at the captivating footage.
“As an Egyptian, this is the first time I see and hear about the things shown in this video!” commented one viewer, while another said: “I’m Egyptian and this is the first time to see this magical footage inside our pyramids, thank you for this effort and you are welcome any time in Egypt.”

“Ok this is by far the coolest vid you’ve ever made,” another fan stated.
Some viewers expressed a desire for more content, suggesting: “We need an extended cut of this, must be hours worth of cool content”.
Concluding their expedition, MrBeast and his team ascended to the top of the Great Pyramid, after navigating ‘narrow passageways’ and a 300-foot tunnel to reach its deepest sections.
