Netflix audience left in tears after binge-watching ‘11/10’ drama series

Fans of a beloved hospital drama have been reaching for tissues as they tune in for the show’s final season.

With the arrival of 2025, a fresh lineup of movies and TV shows is ready to usher in the New Year.

However, 2024 was not lacking in entertainment gems, with audiences buzzing about a ‘unbelievable’ thriller and a true crime series featuring Barack Obama, an Elvis impersonator, and a poisoning scheme.

As the year closed, Netflix added a 2018 hospital drama to its catalog, which UK viewers can now enjoy for the first time.

The show’s title is New Amsterdam, and it centers around Dr. Max Goodwin (played by Ryan Eggold), who steps in as the medical director at one of New York’s oldest public hospitals.

Unlike those before him, Goodwin is determined to make impactful changes, shaking things up to cut through bureaucracy, counter neglect, and improve patient care.

New Amsterdam wrapped up its fifth season in early 2023, yet its recent arrival on the streaming service has reignited enthusiasm among fans on social media, with many taking to Twitter to express their admiration.

As the series often tackles sensitive topics, it has struck a chord with viewers, some even rating it ’11 out of 10′.

One Twitter user humorously shared: “My name is Rob and I’m a telly addict. I’ve just found New Amsterdam on Netflix. See you in a few weeks!”

Another remarked: “I introduced the wife to New Amsterdam on Netflix last night. I’ve seen most series already but 2 episodes in it already hits me in the feels.”

“Such a good series with so many heart string moments. I won’t lie though (no spoilers) I’m already prepping the tissues.”

A different fan expressed that they ‘can’t get enough of this series’, and another rated it: “New Amsterdam on Netflix 11 out of 10.”

A fifth viewer commended the show’s concept, calling it an ‘amazing’ experience.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the series lacks a Tomatometer score but holds a middling 50 percent on the popcorn meter. However, on IMDB, it enjoys a solid 8/10 rating from over 52,000 reviews.

It may be worth diving into the series yourself to see if the hospital antics resonate with you.
