A horror-thriller that leaves audiences ‘wanting to scream’ due to its ‘heart pounding’ intensity has recently been released on Netflix.
If you’re looking for something to take your mind off the anxiety induced by the early arrival of Christmas decorations—lights being hung, trees set up, and wreaths appearing on doors—then this new Netflix thriller is just what you need.
The film garnered more than 20.2 million views in its first week (October 21 to October 27) and an additional 28 million in the following week (October 28 to November 3).
For those who favor film or drama over math—an understandable choice if you’re reading this article—that results in an impressive 48.2 million views in just two weeks.
It held the top position in Netflix’s Top 10 for a week before moving to second place in the subsequent week.
The plot of the movie is a nightmare scenario for many—a woman finding herself lost in a forest, confronting a man when a bear might have been the safer option, and being drugged. She’s forced to run and hide before paralysis sets in, fighting to survive.
The film, titled Don’t Move, was penned by TJ Cimfel and David White and directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto.
The cast includes Kelsey Asbille (One Tree Hill), alongside Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story), Moray Treadwell (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest), and Daniel Francis (Stay Close).
Despite a modest Rotten Tomatoes Popcornmeter score of 38 percent, it earned a respectable Tomatometer score of 72. Clearly, the film’s popularity hasn’t been hindered by mixed reviews, as it has amassed over 40 million views in two weeks.
The admiration for the thriller has extended to social media as well.
One Twitter user remarked: “If you’re a fan of Thriller Movies. Go and watch this movie on Netflix ‘Don’t Move’. Sick, injury detailed, heart pounding & crazy scenes and you just want to scream. Omo one of the cr@ziest movie I’ve seen this year!”

A third person commented: “Y’all gotta watch Don’t Move on Netflix.”
A fourth wrote: “Stressing myself out watching “don’t move” on Netflix.”
And another concluded: “That movie gives the same vibe as trying to fight in a dream.”
Don’t Move is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
