Netflix has captivated its audience yet again with a ‘riveting’ British crime drama that viewers are watching in just a day.
The streaming giant is well-known for its extensive selection of crime series. From a ’10/10′ drama featuring a star from Mindhunter to other highly praised releases, Netflix consistently delivers. If you believe you’ve watched all the notable titles, you might be in for a surprise.
With around 7,000 titles available on Netflix, it’s easy to overlook some hidden gems.
One such drama has accumulated approximately 38.9 million hours of viewership, according to FlixPatrol data.
Many fans confess to watching all six episodes in a single day due to its intense and captivating storyline.
This mystery-thriller television series stars Emma Myers from Wednesday as Pippa Fitz-Amobi. Pippa is a bright yet somewhat obsessive teenager who decides to reopen a five-year-old murder-suicide case as part of her school project.
The story revolves around Andie Bell (played by India Lillie Davies), a well-liked schoolgirl who disappeared after a night out with her boyfriend Sal Singh (portrayed by Rahul Pattni). The police concluded that Sal murdered Andie and then took his own life.
However, Pip is unconvinced by the police’s conclusions and delves deeper into the case, unearthing dark secrets in her hometown of Little Kilton. As she gets closer to uncovering the truth, she finds herself in grave danger.
The series, titled A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, is an adaptation of Holly Jackson’s 2019 novel of the same name.
Initially released by the BBC in the UK last July, the series made its worldwide debut on Netflix in August.
Fans of the series will be pleased to know it was renewed for a second season in November 2024, ensuring it continues beyond a single season.
On Rotten Tomatoes, critics gave the show a respectable 83 percent, describing it as: “A frothy series that carries off the classic murder mystery with a light touch, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’s checks all the boxes for a sweetly satisfying binge.”
