Netflix enthusiasts ignite major debate with contentious opinion on latest original series episodes release

Netflix audiences have ignited a significant discussion with a rather contentious opinion on a beloved series that recently unveiled new episodes on the streaming service.

With so many choices available on Netflix today, viewers often head to forums like Reddit and Facebook’s ‘Netflix Bangers’ after watching a show or movie to share their opinions.

These online platforms also provide an outlet for expressing disappointment over content that didn’t meet expectations.

Currently, a specific controversial opinion circulating on social media suggests that the second season of Tim Burton’s Wednesday isn’t quite meeting the mark.

The new season sees the return of Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Luis Guzmán, and Catherine Zeta Jones, with Joanna Lumley, Lady Gaga, and Steve Buscemi joining the ensemble.

With Wednesday Addams working to hone her psychic abilities and unravel a longstanding mystery, there was considerable anticipation for these latest episodes.

Yet, did it fall short?

One viewer expressed their thoughts in the ‘Netflix Bangers’ Facebook group, saying: “Anyone else think the new season of Wednesday isn’t that good? I fell asleep 5 minutes into the 3rd episode.”

Another Netflix user remarked: “It was lacking. It had a weird plot that didn’t seem very cohesive and seemed like it was style over substance.”

Similarly, someone else shared on X: “Wednesday season 2 is not as good as the first one.”

Despite some online criticism, the second season of Wednesday boasts an impressive 84 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, surpassing the 73 percent that season one achieved.

One fan commented: “Personally, this season was more terrific.”

Another added: “Great season so far. I absolutely love Jenna Ortega she is a great.”

A third fan noted: “Wednesday season 2 is one of my favorite seasons ever, I can’t wait for season 3.”

Discussing the second season of Wednesday, co-showrunners and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar shared with Tudum: “This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore.”

Millar further elaborated: “Nothing is what it seems in Season 2. Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly.

“But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t.”

Wednesday is available for streaming on Netflix now.
