Netflix audiences are diving into a fresh six-part mystery series, featuring Emma Myers from Wednesday.
Following her role as Enid Sinclair, which captivated audiences in the dark and intriguing world of Wednesday, Myers returns as a teenager once more, but this time set in the UK.
At 22 and being American, Myers portrays Pip Fitz-Amobi in this series, which is adapted from Holly Jackson’s highly successful mystery novel.
Originally broadcast in the UK, the episodes have now landed on Netflix, where viewers have rated them as ’10/10′.
In this series, 17-year-old Pip delves into a murder case involving a high school student that occurred five years prior.
The police had closed the case back then, believing the student’s boyfriend was guilty of the murder, but Pip is not convinced.
Entitled A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the series also features Bridgerton’s India Lillie Davies alongside Rahul Pattni and Zain Iqbal.
Speaking with Netflix’s Tudum, Myers shared her enthusiasm for being part of the series, which already had a large fanbase thanks to the book.
“I’m thrilled about this show, and getting to be Pip has been a dream,” she said. “Whether you’ve read the book or not, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an experience all around. I think people are really going to like it.”
Author Jackson expressed her excitement about seeing her work adapted for Netflix, saying: “I hope viewers will love discovering (or rediscovering) all the secrets and lies of our small English town – Little Kilton.”
“Viewers can expect laugh-out-loud moments from all the teenage antics, but also all the pulse-pounding twists you’d find in the darkest of thrillers.”
The series has already received a commendable score of 81 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and viewers continue to praise it since its Netflix release.
One viewer shared their thoughts in LADbible’s Netflix Bangers Facebook group, commenting: “This was soooo good.”
Another viewer admitted to finishing the series quickly, saying: “I watched it in a night. There were a few spots where I knew what was going to happen, but more often I was surprised.
“I haven’t read the books but picked up the first one after watching the show. Really hope that it gets another season.”
Additionally, a third viewer mentioned: “Very good! Kept you guessing till the end! Only 6 episodes so can binge pretty quickly.”
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is now streaming on Netflix.
