Netflix fans claim series is so captivating it ‘deserves another season’ to satisfy their ‘addiction’

Several Netflix viewers are advocating for an additional season of a series they believe “ranks among TV’s best dramas ever.”

This psychological thriller, which has three seasons available on Netflix, debuted nearly a decade ago. However, fans remain captivated and are even considering starting a petition for a fourth season.

Get ready to clear your schedule for the week:

The series was the brainchild of Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler, and Daniel Zelman.

It features performances by Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom), Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me), Broadway star Norbert Leo Butz, and Sam Shepard (The Right Stuff).

Across its three seasons, the narrative focuses on the Rayburn family, particularly on the eldest son, Danny Rayburn (Mendelsohn), as he re-enters the family dynamic, leading to reopened old wounds and ensuing drama.

The series, titled Bloodline, first premiered on February 9, 2015. Despite its conclusion after three seasons, some new viewers are discovering it for the first time, while long-time fans are still yearning for its continuation.

Bloodline boasts a Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer score of 62 percent and a commendable audience score of 74 percent.

A YouTube user commented: “Absolutely excellent television drama. Cast is flawless. Directing fantastic (they hired some proven heavy hitters and it paid off). This show ranks among tv’s best dramas ever.”

The enthusiasm for the series has also spread to the LADbible Facebook group, Netflix Bangers.

One Facebook user shared: “Ssooooo addictive great show!!!”

Another remarked: “I watched it twice. So good.”

A third user chimed in: “It needs another season.”

A Reddit thread has also emerged, with one user inquiring: “Can we… petition for a season four?”

The user elaborated: “I just finished the series, and, wow – so much left unsaid, so many loose ends. I loved every minute of these three seasons, but was very sad to hear about the high production costs (Florida Keys are apparently insanely expensive to film on) that caused the show to be cancelled.”

Indeed, in 2016, The Hollywood Reporter noted that Bloodline had been cancelled following the discontinuation of Florida’s entertainment tax incentives program.

The Reddit user continued: “I don’t understand why they couldn’t move to a similar-looking but cheaper location? They could still use drone footage of The Keys, perhaps just shoot a scene there once or twice. Is the big family house the main issue? And if yes, why not CGI it? Anyways. I’m rambling.

“To my question: can we petition for a continuation of the show? I saw someone else suggest a prequel/sequel and that sounds like a cool idea too. Just wondering if something like this has ever been done. Thx!”

An anonymous user concurred: “Yes yes yes!!!!! Best series EVER!!!!!”
