Netflix fans have just two weekends remaining to watch ‘the greatest show in TV history’ with 97% ratings

Netflix users have only a few days left to enjoy what many consider the ‘greatest TV series of all time.’

The streaming giant offers a wide range of content, but frequent updates mean some outstanding TV series are removed from the library.

These removals are typically due to the expiration of licensing agreements, and although Netflix often provides advance warnings, some shows manage to surprise us when they disappear.

This can mean losing access to a show right in the middle of a binge-watching session.

Other times, we search for a series we thought was available, only to find out it has already been removed. Both situations can be frustrating!

There are just two weekends left for viewers to enjoy or revisit this acclaimed American war drama featuring a remarkable ensemble cast. The HBO miniseries was both created and executive-produced by Hollywood notables Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.

Set during World War II, the series follows ‘Easy Company,’ a unit of the 101st Airborne Division, from their rigorous training at Camp Toccoa through significant battles of the war.

Spanning ten episodes, it vividly portrays the brutal realities of war, the sacrifices endured, and the strong bonds forged among soldiers.

The series features a compelling cast including Damian Lewis, Ron Livingston, David Schwimmer, Donnie Wahlberg, and Michael Cudlitz.

The series in question is Band of Brothers, adapted from Stephen E. Ambrose’s 1992 non-fiction book.

It became part of Netflix US in September 2023, with availability in other regions shortly after, but after two years, it will soon be removed for good.

The last available viewing day is Monday, September 15. The series consists of 10 episodes, each up to 70 minutes long, making it feasible to binge-watch before it’s gone.

Band of Brothers has received critical acclaim and holds an impressive 97 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score from over 1,000 fan reviews.

Critics noted, “Band of Brothers offers a visceral, intense look at the horrors of war — and the sacrifices of the millions of ordinary people who served.” Fans agreed, with one calling it the ‘greatest war mini-series of all time.’

Another viewer stated, “Plain and simple, this is the best work in television history,” and another added, “Maybe the best blend of history and entertainment ever. If not, definitely up there on the list.”

One fan mentioned watching it for the third time, while another commented, “I’ve watched this series multiple times. Its attention to detail, the perfect casting, and close following of the book it was based on amazes me each time I watch it. Fantastic in every way.”

Band of Brothers remains available for streaming on Netflix until Monday, September 15.
