Netflix fans praise ‘amazing’ action thriller boasting 86 percent RT score after requesting similar content

A gripping action thriller on Netflix is enthralling audiences after a much-anticipated second season finally arrived.

If you’re in need of some thrilling entertainment for your weekend, consider diving into a series that released its sophomore season earlier this year, much to the excitement of Netflix subscribers.

Adapted from the novel with the same title, this show follows the journey of low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland (played by Gabriel Basso) and Rose Larkin (portrayed by Luciane Buchanan) as they find themselves embroiled in a significant conspiracy centered around the White House.

The second season boasts a robust 86 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the initial season, released in 2023, not trailing far behind at 75 percent.

Additionally, it ranked among the top 10 Most Viewed Shows on Netflix during the first half of 2025, although it was surpassed by the likes of Squid Game and Adolescence for the top slots.

Titled The Night Agent, the first season concluded with Peter and Rose unveiling both her family’s murderers and the reality behind the terrorist assault on DC Metro.

In the second season, Rose embarks on a search for Peter after he disappears following a failed mission. Even Catherine, the head of the FBI, is unaware of his whereabouts, crafting a gripping narrative.

Netflix enthusiasts had long called for a second season of The Night Agent, and their wish was granted this past January.

Now that viewers have had the opportunity to indulge in The Night Agent’s second season, many are sharing their opinions on the ‘Netflix Bangers’ Facebook group—and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

“It’s amazing,” one user wrote, while another commented: “10/10.”

Yet another fan expressed: “Love this show.”

With any luck, viewers won’t have to endure a lengthy wait for season three of The Night Agent, as Netflix announced in February that production on the third installment of the series had commenced.

Shawn Ryan, the creator, executive producer, and showrunner of The Night Agent, revealed to Tudum: “We’re so excited to bring new thrills, new worlds, new stunts, new characters, and new adventures to our fans in Season 3.

“We’ll be spanning the globe from Istanbul to New York to Washington, DC to Mexico City and even though we just started filming, we’ve already captured some of our biggest, most spectacular stuff yet. Thanks so much for devouring Season 2 and we look forward to bringing you a bigger and even better Season 3.”

Although filming is in progress in New York and Istanbul, Netflix has not yet announced when the third season will be available to stream on the platform.
