Netflix is dropping a 91% rated series that’s ‘even better on rewatch’ and perfect for a one-day binge

A dark comedy series that is highly appreciated for being even better upon a second viewing is set to exit Netflix this August.

The streaming platform consistently updates its digital library each month, which sometimes means saying goodbye to beloved TV shows and movies to make way for new content.

The series in question debuted on AMC and has achieved an impressive 91 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The genre-blending show features Annie Murphy of Schitt’s Creek fame, portraying Allison McRoberts, who is stuck in a toxic marriage with her crude, childish husband.

Initially, their life seems like a typical sitcom, complete with canned laughter, slapstick comedy, and a brightly lit multi-camera setup.

However, when Allison is alone, the narrative shifts to a dark, single-camera drama, reflecting her growing resentment and desire to break free.

The series has become a favorite among viewers for repeated viewing, with many describing it as ‘the best thing’ they’ve ever watched.

It’s no surprise that many fans are disappointed to see the 16-episode series leave Netflix soon.

The show in question is Kevin Can F**k Himself, a play on the sitcom Kevin Can Wait, starring Kevin James, which also ran for only two seasons.

A fan on Rotten Tomatoes commented: “I just rewatched and it’s honestly even better the second time – flawless performances by all and a real delve into the complicated angles of being a person.”

Another viewer agreed: “This show was ahead of its time. The way they use lighting and comedy to portray an abusive marriage is f**king brilliant,” while a third hailed it as an incredible TV achievement.

Kevin is scheduled to leave on Friday, August 18. To see what other shows are departing Netflix in August, you can check here.

In the R/KevinCanFHimself Reddit community, a user advised: “Just a heads up – if you are planning to re-watch this show, hurry up. Kevin is leaving Netflix on August 18, 2025.”

Fans expressed their frustration. “I am getting a bit tired of chasing favorite shows from one streaming service to another…” one remarked.

“Didn’t they just get it?? Damn,” another lamented, while a third praised it as a ‘hidden gem.’

There is a silver lining; there’s still time to stream the show, with fans revealing they have binge-watched the entire series in a single day.

“I’m glad I watched it recently. I’d been meaning to give it a try and wound up binging it in a few days,” shared another social media user.

All 16 episodes of Kevin Can F**k Himself are available for streaming on Netflix until Monday, August 18.

After this date, both seasons can be accessed via AMC+ as an add-on to an Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV subscription.
