Netflix series with unique 100% RT rating renewed for another season after 40 million hours streamed

A Netflix series viewed for 40 million hours has been renewed for a second season.

In the lead-up to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, Netflix has announced that a well-received sports drama, which premiered just a few weeks prior, will be returning for another season.

The series, consisting of eight episodes, achieved a perfect 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with its showrunner hinting at “plenty more” action in the future.

Sport romance dramas are becoming increasingly popular, and the success of HBO’s Heated Rivalry has contributed to this trend.

However, the Canadian hockey series ranks below Netflix’s ice-skating drama, Finding Her Edge.

While the former series garnered a respectable 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, the latter achieved a perfect 100 percent score.

On February 5, Netflix announced that Finding Her Edge has been approved for another season after it was streamed for 40.4 million hours, as reported by FlixPatrol.

The series is adapted from the YA novel by Jennifer Iacopelli and follows the story of three sisters attempting to rescue their family’s faltering figure skating business.

Madelyn Keys plays the role of 17-year-old Adriana Russo, the middle sister who faces challenges both on and off the ice.

Adriana is training for the World Championships with a new partner, Brayden (Cale Ambrozic), while still dealing with the aftermath of her first romantic relationship with Freddie (Olly Atkins).

Complications emerge off the ice as Adriana and Brayden must pretend to be a couple to support the family business.

Fans have reported binge-watching the series in just a few hours, with one viewer describing it as “heartfelt and entertaining.”

“A refreshing and surprisingly gripping drama that proves figure skating can be just as intense and emotionally charged as any mainstream sport,” commented another viewer. A third described Finding Her Edge as an “easy but meaningful watch” with “genuine characters.”

Many viewers are eager for a second season to see how the storylines develop for the well-loved characters.

Showrunner Jeff Norton hinted at continued drama “both on and off the ice,” telling Netflix Tudum: “I set out to make a show about love, featuring characters navigating a particularly difficult path in their lives and in their sport.

“It’s a true gift to be able to work with such a talented cast to extend these characters’ journeys in Season 2.”

He also mentioned that he is “certain” viewers will be thrilled as the series explores the two love triangles central to the show – one romantic and one familial.

Author Iacopelli expressed her excitement about the show’s positive reception, noting that the Netflix adaptation has also boosted sales of her original book.

“To see my book come to life and watch the world fall in love with my characters has been a dream come true, and now that dream gets to continue with a Season 2!” she shared with Netflix Tudum.

“I can’t wait for audiences to see what’s in store for Adriana, Brayden, Freddie, and the rest of Team Russo!”

While a release date for the second season has not been announced yet, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updates!

All eight episodes of Finding Her Edge are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
