Netflix subscribers outraged as ‘best show ever’ with high RT score set to exit streaming soon

Fans of Netflix are upset as a beloved sitcom, often referred to as the ‘best show ever’, is about to exit the streaming service in just a few days.

With Netflix constantly updating its content, there’s a regular rotation where some shows and movies leave the platform to pave the way for new arrivals.

This month has seen a host of titles departing, leaving viewers frustrated as their viewing plans are unexpectedly cut short.

Among the shows leaving soon is The Good Place, a fact that has shocked many given its impressive 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The series, starring Kristen Bell, revolves around saleswoman Eleanor Shellstrop, who finds herself in a heavenly afterlife following a fatal car accident.

Realizing she was mistakenly sent to this place due to her less-than-virtuous life, Eleanor strives to stay in this idyllic setting.

The Good Place was broadcast on NBC from 2016 to 2020, encompassing four seasons and totalling 53 episodes.

After its Netflix debut in September 2020, the show found a new audience, accumulating an impressive 308 million hours of viewing between January 2023 and June 2025. However, it will be removed from Netflix on September 26.

As its departure nears, many fans have expressed their disapproval on social media.

One viewer exclaimed: “Dude good thing I just rewatched The Good Place WDYM leaving Netflix?!!?!?? What the f*** where am I supposed to rewatch it every summer.”

Another questioned: “Why is The Good Place leaving Netflix, what the f***,” while someone else noted: “The Good Place AND Brooklyn 99 are both leaving Netflix.”

This news is surprising given The Good Place’s continued popularity, as reflected in its Rotten Tomatoes reviews.

One review praised: “Best show ever made! I’ve watched it over ten times all the way through and love it more with each rewatch.”

Another noted: “A brilliant ending to an even more brilliant show that comes exactly when it needs to. You will leave this experience (hopefully) becoming a better person. If this show doesn’t touch you – are you even human?”

And a third shared: “One of my favorite endings to a show. The very end always makes me emotional in the best way.”

The Good Place will remain available on Netflix for a limited time.
