Netflix viewers have limited time to catch ‘most quotable’ film as long-awaited sequel receives update

There’s been a surge of interest on social media encouraging people to watch, or revisit, one of the most legendary and quotable buddy cop movies ever made.

While buddy cop films were once a staple in Hollywood, they have become less frequent in recent years.

Nevertheless, the classics are always available for those who wish to experience them.

What makes these action-comedy films stand out are their unforgettable scenes and dynamic lead performances, and this particular movie is no exception.

For those who haven’t yet seen the iconic partnership of a skilled Hong Kong detective and a fast-talking LAPD officer, it’s a must-watch experience.

If you’re still unsure, we’re referring to the 1998 film “Rush Hour,” starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.

Currently, the entire trilogy is available on Netflix, though it will be leaving the platform by the month’s end.

Fans on Reddit have lauded the film for its timeless appeal and memorable lines.

One fan expressed: “I just had realization of how great all three rush hour movies. It’s funny, sad, emotional but always keeps your eyes on screen. The chemistry those two have is iconic.”

Another user mentioned: “I think this series is ageless… it’s my fun, much-needed condo in the Virgin Islands when I need a getaway… just going home again for a few minutes…”

A third simply stated: “Love rush hour 1 for sure. it’s so damn quotable and hilarious.”

Additionally, someone commented: “He was hysterical in those movies, I hope they do another before they are too old.”

However, since the third installment was released in 2007, fans have eagerly awaited another sequel.

There have been whispers and speculation about a fourth movie, but concrete details remain scarce.

While promoting “Karate Kid: Legends” in May, Jackie Chan provided an update about the anticipated sequel.

According to ScreenRant, when questioned about “Rush Hour 4,” Chan admitted he was as uncertain as the fans.

The actor stated, “I don’t know. Ask the director, ask the studio, ask the writer.”

He expressed enthusiasm for the project but acknowledged that time is of the essence for both him and Chris Tucker.

Chan joked, “Hurry up! Otherwise, Chris Tucker and me [will be] 100 years old. We’ll be old men doing Rush Hour. Yes! [I want to do it] And I want to do [another] Shanghai Knights, Shanghai Dawn. Shanghai Noon, Shanghai Knights, and Shanghai Dawn. The script is still going on. I want to do a Rush Hour 4.”

Even at 71, it’s evident that Chan is eager to revisit some of his most beloved franchises.

Remember, all three “Rush Hour” films will exit Netflix on October 1.
