Netflix viewers ‘pleading’ for a second season of fresh drama with episodes that surprise audiences ‘every single time’

Fans of Netflix are eagerly requesting the platform to produce a second season for a recent drama that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats with episodes that surprise them constantly.

Typically, Netflix announces follow-up seasons for shows that have met their viewership expectations shortly after their debut.

One such show, The Hunting Wives, which premiered on Netflix last month, has certainly captured the attention of its viewers.

This eight-episode series revolves around Sophie, a woman who relocates from the bustling city of Boston to the quiet of rural Texas, seeking a new beginning.

The plot swiftly takes a dark turn when Sophie befriends a socialite, leading her into a world of obsession, seduction, and even murder.

Starring Brittany Snow, Malin Ã…kerman, Dermot Mulroney, Chrissy Metz, Jaime Ray Newman, Evan Jonigkeit, and Katie Lowes, the series is produced by Rebecca Perry Cutter and Erwin Stoff.

The Hunting Wives is adapted from a book bearing the same title, with May Cobb, the novel’s author, contributing to the series as a producer.

Social media is abuzz with discussions about The Hunting Wives, and many are already clamoring for a second season just weeks after its Netflix release.

A Twitter user exclaimed: “Everyone needs to watch The Hunting Wives on Netflix. I need it to have more seasons. More than anything. @RebeccaCutter_ I love your work!”

Another commented: “Every single episode of #TheHuntingWivesNetflix shocks me every single time like wtf this s*** keeps getting crazier,” while someone else pleaded: “Please renew the hunting wives pls I am begging @netflix.”

The Hunting Wives boasts an impressive 81 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, with many critics in the industry expressing approval.

Roxana Hadadi from Vulture commented: “Whichever way The Hunting Wives goes in a second season, though, it’ll be building on a rock-solid foundation of soap-opera plotting and a strong grasp of tone.”

Robert Lloyd of the Los Angeles Times noted: “The characters are types, but the actors fill them out well, and the dynamic between Margo and Sophie really is … dynamic.”

Meanwhile, Joel Keller from Decider stated in his review: “The Hunting Wives is a show you know is going to be ridiculous going in, and it doesn’t try to hide its sexy, at times campy personality under the sheen of a prestige drama.”
