Netflix has an ‘intriguing’ series that can be devoured in just one night and has been praised as a ’10/10′ experience.
For those who found Tom Hardy’s recent Netflix release overwhelming, there’s a new limited series that promises to distract and entertain.
Stephen Belber is the mind behind this Netflix creation, with V. J. Boyd serving as showrunner. The series features performances from Colman Domingo (The Color Purple), Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us), and Gabrielle Graham (The Expanse).
The show includes a single season thus far, with its eight episodes following the story of CNN media pundit Muncie Daniels (Domingo). His discovery of a body in the Pennsylvania woods sets off a chain of bizarre events.
Although the first season was released on November 28, 2024, viewers quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on the show.
Consider freeing up your evening:
The aptly named thriller, The Madness, was spotlighted in the LADbible Facebook Group Netflix Bangers, with fans eager to share their ratings.
One viewer commented: “Just watched Madness 10/10 awesome no skip full feel… Highly recommended.”
Another user chimed in: “I am watching this right now. 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.”
A third person noted: “It’s definitely a slow burner but binge worthy.”
A fourth agreed: “Binged watched this today, absolutely brilliant.”
And a fifth remarked: “I was at the edge of my seat and binge watched all of it. I highly recommend it!”
The question remains: will there be a season two?
In an interview with Deadline, Domingo discussed his acting career and the series, expressing a desire to ‘make a difference’ and take on meaningful projects.
“I can see the lines of my work very clearly, because I’m very conscious of it. I’m not just gonna take the next thing that’s gonna bring me a lot of access and money or platform,” he stated.
While an official announcement hasn’t been made, Domingo commented on the possibility of a second season: “Listen, I don’t really say this a lot about any show because I like going from moment to moment and having great moments in a show and moving on with my life and doing something else.
“This show, I think there’s more from Muncie. I would really love to engage with a Season 2, so we’ll see if people think he’s got more story in him as well, so I hope people watch.”
The Madness is available to stream on Netflix now.
