Netflix viewers unanimously agree on the top documentary currently streaming

Netflix fans have shared their opinions on what they believe is the most unsettling documentary available on the platform.

Seeking recommendations, a fan took to the Facebook group Netflix Bangers to inquire about must-watch content.

She asked for suggestions on the “best documentary that will have me like wtf”.

With an abundance of disturbing documentaries, ranging from true crime to investigative pieces, there is no lack of choices.

Numerous users flooded the comments with their recommendations.

One user mentioned Girl in the Picture, while another recommended Dear Zachery: A Letter to a Son About His Father.

Interestingly, a third person humorously suggested the dystopian comedy Idiocracy.

However, one documentary emerged as a clear favorite.

The highly disturbing Don’t F*ck With Cats received overwhelming support in the comments.

This three-part docuseries details the pursuit of Luka Magnotta following the murder of Lin Jun.

But what is the significance of the title referring to cats?

Magnotta, originally named Eric Kirk Newman, was notorious for posting videos online where he killed cats and kittens by methods such as suffocation or drowning.

One particularly disturbing instance involved him filming himself feeding a live cat to a snake.

In response to these horrific videos, internet sleuths had already begun trying to track down Magnotta.

However, the situation escalated to a full criminal investigation when Magnotta’s crimes grew more severe.

This escalation occurred in 2012 when Magnotta brutally killed 33-year-old computer engineering student Lin Jun.

In a manner consistent with his previous online behavior, Magnotta posted a video showing the murder and subsequent abuse of Lin’s corpse.

This included dismembering Lin’s body and sending his hands and feet to the headquarters of the Liberal and Conservative parties in Canada, as well as to two elementary schools.

Magnotta then fled to Europe, where he was eventually located in an internet café, reading news articles about his own crimes.

Ultimately, in 2014, he received a life sentence for Lin’s murder.

Viewers shared their reactions to the documentary, with one commenting that it “had me not wanting to watch but not being able to look away.”

Another reflected on its disturbing nature, stating: “I still have intrusive thoughts from this movie. It’s pretty disturbing”.

One more person cautioned those interested in watching it: “oh god!! Just be ready for this one. It’s sooo disturbing.”
