Nicholas Hoult’s wife hits back at body-shamers after Oscars party dress sparks outrage

Nicholas Hoult’s wife has called out online remarks about her body after wearing a plunging gown to an Oscars afterparty.

Bryana Holly attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party in Los Angeles this week alongside Hoult, the Nosferatu and upcoming Superman actor. The pair’s marriage was confirmed in November 2024 following several years together.

For the event, Holly opted for a black, sequin dress with a deep neckline, while Hoult, 36, wore a Prada double-breasted suit. He also kept his bleached blond look ahead of his next film, How to Rob a Bank.

After photos from the night circulated, some people chose to comment specifically on Holly’s breasts—prompting her to respond, despite saying she didn’t feel anyone was entitled to an explanation.

“Not that * anyone * is owed an explanation, but this is the product of a breastfeeding mother who hasn’t fed her babies in hours ok! If you know then you know.”

Holly, 32, shares two children with Hoult: their eight-year-old son Joaquin, and a three-year-old child whose name and gender have not been publicly disclosed.

Since first being linked in 2016, the couple have largely kept their relationship and home life out of the spotlight. Even their engagement was never formally announced, and their marriage only became public after Hoult referred to Holly as his wife.

At the 2024 Governors Awards, he used the term “wife,” and shortly afterward the couple confirmed to PEOPLE that they had married.

“I feel like it’s fairly from my comments.”

While reports suggest they began dating in 2016, Hoult didn’t appear on Holly’s Instagram until 2022, when she posted a London selfie to wish him happy birthday.

In December 2023, she also marked their seventh anniversary with a set of photos together, with some images appearing to show an engagement ring.

The Vanity Fair afterparty is known for its tight guest list, and a source told The Hollywood Reporter that the publication’s new editor, Mark Guiducci, wanted the room filled with only top-tier names.

“He must have gone over that list a thousand times,” they added.

Other attendees reportedly included Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Kate Hudson, and Frankenstein actor Mia Goth.
