Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Her Well-being After Breaking Silence on Keith Urban Divorce

Nicole Kidman has hinted at how she is coping amid her ongoing divorce from Keith Urban.

The accomplished actress, known for her roles in films like Eyes Wide Shut and Paddington, sat down with musician and actor Ariana Grande for an in-depth conversation about where they currently stand in their lives. Grande has recently released the sequel to Wicked, while Kidman shared that she completed filming a sequel to Practical Magic over the summer.

During their discussion for Interview Magazine, the pair touched on topics ranging from astrology to their current reading choices—Kidman is engrossed in a thriller novel by Reese Witherspoon.

At the beginning of the interview, Kidman gave a glimpse into her current emotional state, offering a brief yet telling insight.

Kidman has been facing challenges following the confirmation of her divorce from husband Keith Urban after almost two decades of marriage. She filed for divorce on September 30.

When Grande inquired about her well-being, Kidman responded candidly: “I’m hanging in there.”

The divorce has garnered significant attention, partly due to details about a ‘cocaine clause’ in their prenuptial agreement. This clause stated that if Urban, who has battled addiction, abstained from cocaine throughout their marriage, he would receive $600,000 for each year of sobriety.

Over the 19 years of their union, this amounts to just over $11 million.

Urban has previously shared that Kidman played a crucial role in an intervention that helped him address his addiction issues before their marriage.

In a 2010 interview with Oprah Winfrey, he expressed gratitude for her support, stating: “I’m just so glad she didn’t, and she made a decision to turn around and initiate ultimately this intervention, and it was done in such a way that the love in that room at that moment was just right. I was like, ‘Put the cuffs on, let’s go’.”

Urban later acknowledged Kidman’s ongoing support during his struggles, saying at her AFI Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony: “Four months into a marriage, and I’m in rehab for three months with no idea what was going to happen to us.

“Nic pushed through every negative voice – I’m sure even some of her own – and she chose love.”
