Nikki Glaser Faces Criticism Over Controversial Diddy Joke at Golden Globes

The Golden Globes are known for having hosts who often poke fun at the celebrity audience.

Ricky Gervais has been one of the most notable and biting hosts in the past, returning to the stage multiple times.

Last year’s Golden Globes were hosted by comedian Jo Koy, while this year, Nikki Glaser has taken on the hosting duties.

Nikki Glaser, at 40, is breaking new ground as the first woman to host the event solo.

During the show, Glaser targeted several celebrities, including Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez.

However, it was her comment about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs that caught significant attention.

While speaking about Zendaya, who was rumored to be engaged that evening, Glaser remarked, “Challengers girl, oh my god, it was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.

“I mean, seriously? Oh, no, no, I know, I’m sorry. I’m upset too. The afterparty is not going to be as good this year, but we have to move on. I know ‘Stanley Tucci Freak Off’ just doesn’t have the same ring to it.”

Audience reactions to the Diddy joke were mixed, with many taking to Twitter to express their thoughts.

“We really don’t need jokes about him,” commented one user regarding the former music mogul.

Another added, “No Diddy jokes please… Come on…”

“Ugh, you can’t make it past any award show without the host making a distasteful joke,” remarked another viewer of the Golden Globes.

Some critics described jokes about Diddy as ‘tired’.

The rapper, known for his hit ‘I Need A Girl’, is facing multiple legal charges, including rape and racketeering.

He is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, awaiting trial.
