Nobody Wants This Star Tovah Feldshuh Addresses Tensions Over Adam Brody’s Palestine Comments

Tovah Feldshuh is pushing back against reports of cast infighting over her co-star’s Middle East stance.

The 77-year-old actress, who plays Bina in the Netflix rom-com “Nobody Wants This,” took to Threads on Friday, October 30 to address speculation that Adam Brody’s public comments on Palestine had created a rift among the ensemble. She insisted that while disagreements exist, they have not poisoned the workplace.

“Tensions are NOT RISING. Profound differences of opinion are,” Feldshuh wrote. “Please do not conflate the two — And none of it will be brought to the set.”

She added that her enthusiasm for the show remains undimmed, writing, “I deeply enjoy filming NWT and hope we are chosen to go on for a fourth season.”

The friction traces back to last month, when Brody, 45, broke his public silence on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in a GQ interview. The former “O.C.” star, who portrays Rabbi Noah Roklov on the series, did not hedge his position.

“I have spoken a lot about it privately. I haven’t spoken much about it publicly,” Brody shared in the magazine. “Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine.”

He continued, “It’s awful that it’s taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it’s reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago. I’m hopeful that another administration can really do some good and correct some of these policies that are helping that situation be as awful as it is.”

Feldshuh, whose character is Brody’s mother on screen, rejected his framing in stark terms. Speaking to The Post, she drew a direct line to historical anti-Jewish propaganda.

“To accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild,” she told the outlet. “It’s right out of Hitler’s playbook. You take the victim and you make the victim the perpetrator.”

Despite their political gulf, Feldshuh emphasized her commitment to maintaining professional warmth. “My job, as Bina but also as Tovah, is to love the people on set at my place of work, to be kind,” she said.

The divide has drawn commentary from outside the cast as well. Rabbi Steve Leder, who served as technical adviser for the show’s first season, has publicly criticized Brody, branding him an “ignorant Jew.”

The series centers on Rabbi Noah Roklov’s unlikely romance with Joanne, a non-Jewish sex podcaster portrayed by Kristen Bell. Creator Erin Foster loosely modeled the premise on her own relationship with now-husband Simon Tikhman. The third season of the romantic comedy premiered recently on Netflix.

Foster herself has addressed Brody’s remarks, saying in an exclusive interview that the cast and crew have navigated the situation with mutual respect.
