Olivia Culpo announced the birth of her second child with Christian McCaffrey in a joint Instagram post Saturday.
The former Miss Universe, 34, and the San Francisco 49ers running back, 30, welcomed son Roman Augustus McCaffrey on Sept. 29, according to the shared post. The announcement arrived with a photo slideshow showing both parents cradling the newborn alongside their 1-year-old daughter, Colette, in what the images suggested was her first turn as a big sister. Culpo amplified the news on her Instagram Stories, where she wrote, “Heart is exploding.”

The couple’s path to this moment had moved at remarkable speed. Culpo revealed her second pregnancy in May, calling it the “Best birthday gift ❤️” in maternity shoot photos that included McCaffrey and Colette. She added then, “Baby #2 coming soon 🥹,” signaling what would become a five-month countdown to Roman’s arrival. The pregnancy came just six months after she delivered Colette via C-section in July 2025, a timeline that had surprised even Culpo herself.
“I did not think that this was going to happen the way that it did,” Culpo confessed via TikTok in May, addressing the rapid succession of pregnancies.
“I am so fortunate to be able to bring another child into the world,” she continued. “Few things that have been running through my mind, cause I just really didn’t plan on this at all.”

Culpo had been candid about the physical toll of back-to-back pregnancies. She said last year that she was “definitely not totally healed” when she conceived again, noting she had just begun to “get [her] groove back” after Colette’s birth.

“I was working out,” she noted. “I could see some abs coming. That’s just not what the body wants right now.”
Her initial reaction to the unexpected pregnancy carried genuine uncertainty. “In the beginning, I was like, ‘Oh, my god, can I even do this? Is this allowed? Like, what’s gonna happen?'” she recalled.

The couple maintained their tradition of waiting to learn the baby’s sex until delivery, a choice Culpo explained ahead of Colette’s birth.

“It would be really fun to wait,” the former reality star said. “It would be such a nice surprise. … Being healthy, that’s all you can ask for.”
That intuition had failed her once before. In March 2025, Culpo told followers she suspected a boy was coming, only to deliver daughter Colette months later. The arrival of Roman Augustus confirmed the family pattern of delivery-room revelations.

Long before the whirlwind of two babies in fifteen months, Culpo had feared motherhood might elude her entirely. Her endometriosis diagnosis shadowed her early relationship with McCaffrey, whom she began dating in 2019.
“I want to have kids, but I want to make sure that I can,” she said in a 2022 episode of her family’s show. “It could be really hard for me to have babies.”
McCaffrey proposed in 2023, and the couple married in June 2024. They announced their first pregnancy the following March, setting in motion the rapid family expansion that now finds them with two children under sixteen months.

The NFL star’s own family carries deep football roots. His father, Ed McCaffrey, was a three-time Super Bowl champion wide receiver, and his brothers have also played professionally. Christian McCaffrey joined the 49ers in a 2023 trade after six seasons with the Carolina Panthers, where he established himself as one of the league’s most versatile offensive weapons.

Culpo first gained national recognition winning Miss Universe in 2012, later transitioning into modeling, acting, and the reality television space with “The Culpo Sisters.” Her relationship with McCaffrey became public in 2019, following earlier high-profile romances with musicians and athletes.

The new parents have not indicated whether they plan to expand their family further, though Culpo’s May TikTok posts suggested the second pregnancy arrived without advance planning. For now, their announced family of four appears complete, with Roman Augustus joining Colette as the second of what may remain their two children.
McCaffrey and the 49ers face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field.
