Olivia Rodrigo has spoken out against Donald Trump after reports revealed that nearly 30 Planned Parenthood health centers have shut down nationwide.
The 23-year-old musician shared her response in a video posted to the Instagram and X pages for Daisy Chain Fields, her forthcoming women-focused music festival.
Scored by her song “My Way,” the video begins with Rodrigo and a group of women wearing stern expressions while on-screen text explains the reason for their frustration.
“Learning that nearly 30 Planned Parenthood health centers have closed since President Donald Trump signed a law ‘defunding’ Planned Parenthood.”
The tone then changes, with the women dancing as a second message appears.
“But we’ll never stop fighting for sexual and reproductive health care!!!”
Planned Parenthood remains an essential provider for about 2.09 million patients across the US every year.
Its services include STI testing and treatment, cancer screenings, contraception guidance, pregnancy options counseling, abortion care, and broad education programs.
Although most of its patients are women, the organization also serves men as well as transgender and non-binary people. Around 13% of patients are men.
Rodrigo’s latest post is another example of her continued advocacy for reproductive rights.
She was previously honored with Planned Parenthood’s Catalyst of Change Award in 2025, and during her Guts World Tour she launched the global Fund 4 Good initiative to support local healthcare nonprofits and abortion funds.
The post follows policy changes introduced during the Trump administration, including the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed on July 4, 2025. The legislation removed federal Medicaid funding and limited support for family planning clinics across the country. The law included a one-year ban on Medicaid reimbursements for health providers that received over $800,000 in federal funds in 2023 and provide abortions for reasons other than rape, incest, or threat to the life of the mother.
Daisy Chain Fields will take place August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California, and features an all-women lineup including Chappell Roan, Mitski, Bikini Kill, The Breeders, and special guests Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLachlan. All artists are performing for free, with 100 percent of net proceeds benefiting charitable organizations dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls, including Planned Parenthood, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Free Form, and the National Domestic Workers Alliance.
This is also not the first time Rodrigo has criticized the administration publicly.
Earlier this year, the Grammy-winning star condemned the White House after the Department of Homeland Security used her song “All-American Bitch” in a promotional ICE deportation video in November 2025. The video called on undocumented immigrants to self-deport using the CBP Home app.
“What they’re doing is so awful and barbaric and cruel,” Rodrigo stated regarding the clip. “I am really sad to be in a country that thinks that’s OK.”
She also posted a direct response under the official upload.
“Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.”
In subsequent interviews, Rodrigo reflected on discovering the video while scrolling through social media, describing it as “deeply disturbing” and noting that seeing her own song used in the propaganda made her feel “even more enraged.”
With health center closures continuing around the country, Rodrigo’s newest statement underscores her commitment to using both her public platform and her festival project to support access to reproductive healthcare.
