Olympic athlete Lisa Buckwitz has shared how creating content on OnlyFans has provided financial support for her bobsledding career as she prepares to compete for Germany in the 2026 Winter Olympics next month.
The 31-year-old athlete, who secured a gold medal during the 2018 Olympics, acknowledged that joining the subscription-based platform was a significant positive step in her journey.
In a discussion with Bild, a German media outlet, Buckwitz disclosed that she began using OnlyFans in November 2024. She explained that the sponsorships she received were insufficient to fully cover her sporting expenses.
While Buckwitz is not alone among Olympians turning to the platform for additional income, she attributes OnlyFans as a crucial factor in enabling her to fund her trip to Italy, where she is set to compete on the global stage when the Winter Games commence next month.

“It’s also a stroke of luck for me, as it allows me to finance my team,” Buckwitz stated. “It’s the best thing that could have happened to me.”
On Instagram, Buckwitz expressed mixed feelings about her OnlyFans account, saying she felt ‘sad’ about needing alternative funding despite her past achievements.
“It’s a bit sad that I can’t just focus on my competitive sport,” she wrote at that time. “Sure, I’m an Olympic champion. But nobody’s interested in Lisa Buckwitz just because of the gold medal. That’s unfortunately the downside.”
She elaborated on her decision by stating: “This partnership is all about sharing the heart and hustle behind my bobsleigh journey — showing you the grit, the goals, and everything in between.
“From intense training days to the exhilaration on race day, I’m inviting you behind the scenes to experience what it truly takes to push limits at the highest level.”
Buckwitz offers various subscription packages on the platform, starting at $59.98 for 3 months, $97.46 for 6 months, and $194.92 for 12 months.

Bobsledding comes with significant financial demands; Buckwitz points to the costs of flights, equipment, training camps, and bonuses for her teammates, with a single season potentially costing up to $59,000.
Despite the nature of the platform, she clarified her boundaries, stating she will ‘definitely not show myself naked’, acknowledging that the sexual aspect of the site is ‘of course a topic’, though she has posed in a bikini or sports bra.
Previously, Buckwitz has appeared nude for Playboy Germany in 2022, aiming to promote ‘natural beauty’.
Her Olympic debut was in 2018, where she earned a spot on the podium in the two-woman bobsled event at the Pyeongchang Games in South Korea.
In 2022, she participated in the same event during the Beijing Olympics, finishing in fourth place without a medal.
Two years thereafter, she climbed back onto the podium in Winterberg, Germany, securing bronze in the Monobob event.
Now, she is hopeful to achieve another medal as she prepares to compete in the upcoming games in Milan, representing Germany.
