Olympic gymnast gains viral fame after fans discover her dating app profile

Olympic gymnast Flavia Saraiva has recently found herself in the limelight for two very different reasons – one involving her ‘Tinder account’.

On July 30, the Brazilian athlete first gained widespread attention after suffering a painful injury during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Saraiva was rehearsing her uneven bars routine for the women’s artistic team all-around final when she unexpectedly lost her grip and fell onto the mat, leading to an injury near her eye.

Despite saying she ‘could not see’ after the incident, Saraiva made a remarkable recovery and went on to compete in the final, ultimately winning a bronze medal.

Her tenacity and ability to overcome adversity won her widespread admiration, and she secured her first Olympic medal.

As reported by Metro, Saraiva reflected on her injury saying: “I could not see, it bled, but the team’s doctor told me everything was all right.”

“I believe my knee hit my eye when I tripped. It’s not the first time it happened to me. We are warriors.”

She later elaborated to Globo about her confusion after the accident: “When I realized I was on the floor, lying down with my knee in my face. I just rolled over so Rebeca could warm up.”

“I said, ‘guys, where am I?’. Then Chico said, ‘it’s bleeding, it’s bleeding’. I put my hand on my face and my eye was bleeding, I didn’t understand anything. Then he asked if I was warm. Then I said, ‘now I’m awake’.”

Recently, Saraiva has gone viral for an entirely different reason – her Tinder account has apparently appeared online, as reported by The Sun.

Her profile, which is written in Portuguese, reportedly states that she’s seeking ‘nothing serious, but it depends,’ according to The Sun’s translation.

The profile also mentions her accolades, stating that she is ‘an artistic gymnastics athlete, Olympic and world medalist,’ along with descriptions like ‘tanned’ and ‘good person.’

Unsurprisingly, many people online are now attempting to connect with the Olympic medalist.

Translated from Portuguese, one Twitter user commented alongside a screen-recording of Flavia’s profile, “POV: You downloaded Tinder to find the supposed Flavia Saraiva and you succeeded.”

Another user, translated from Portuguese, remarked: “If even Flavia Saraiva, an Olympic bronze medalist in France 2024, uses the dating app Tinder to meet someone, what can we say about you mere mortals who use more than 3 or 4 dating apps at the same time and still haven’t found anyone…DARK TIMES.”

Additionally, someone else commented: “Flavia Saraiva being responsible for the biggest marketing ever done for Tinder.”
