Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack dispels ‘absurd’ claims of father’s ‘planned’ death

Jack Osbourne, son of the legendary Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne, has dismissed ‘ridiculous’ rumors that surfaced following his father’s passing.

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76 after experiencing a heart attack at his family’s estate in England.

His children – Kelly, Jack, and Aimee – whom he had with his wife Sharon, were present at his funeral on July 30. Since then, the family has mostly remained private as they grieve the loss of their iconic father and husband.

Recently, Jack, at 39 years old, opened up about his father’s death and his own feelings in a new YouTube video titled ‘A personal note before moving forward on the loss of my father’.

In the video, Jack describes how he was in Los Angeles when he received news of his father’s death from a family friend who came to his door around 3:45 in the morning.

“No one expected it to happen as quickly as it did and when it did, it was not anything that was on our radar,” Jack remarked.

In doing so, he addressed strange rumors that arose regarding Osbourne’s final days, including a claim that Ozzy planned to travel to Switzerland to ‘euthanize himself’.

“I know leading up to it there was all sorts of stuff going around about my dad going to Switzerland and [he] was going to euthanize himself and this was all planned… it was not. Absolutely not,” Jack clarified.

“That is categorically untrue and ridiculous,” he continued, before discussing some of the aspirations Osbourne had hoped to pursue before his death.

“My dad was so happy that he did the [farewell] show and he was happy to kind of move into this next phase of his life.

“He wanted to spend more time in England. He wanted to spend more time with my kids. He wanted to spend more time with just exploring different things as much as he could.”

Jack had been in the UK with his father during Osbourne’s farewell performance with Black Sabbath in Aston, and he mentioned that his father was ‘in an amazing mood’ in the days following the event.

He returned to Los Angeles about a week later but immediately flew back to England after learning of his father’s death.
