A Powerball player in California has the single winning ticket for the $2.04 billion jackpot, ending a stretch of 40 draws that produced no winners and pushed the top reward into record territory. The ticket holder, whose name has not been revealed, can collect a cash lump sum of $997.6 million or get the whole amount in 29 annual payments.
