Dua Lipa and Callum Turner were visibly upset after being pursued by paparazzi recently, as the couple begged to be left alone.
The couple, who are currently one of the most talked-about pairs in the entertainment industry, had their evening disrupted after dining at Le Voltaire in Paris, France. As they exited the restaurant, their attempts to gain privacy were ignored by photographers.
In a widely-circulated video clip, Masters of the Air star Callum Turner can be seen leaving the venue solo, addressing the crowd of photographers with: “Guys, guys, guys, we live around the corner. What are you doing?
“You have to leave us alone. Please. You’re telling everyone where we live. It’s not okay.”
Despite his pleas, the paparazzi continued their pursuit. As Dua Lipa emerged from the restaurant, the photographers trailed them.
“No, no, no. We’re not doing this,” Lipa expressed, clearly frustrated as it became apparent that the paparazzi would not relent.
One of the photographers suggested that if the couple posed for a photo, they would be left alone.
“Dua, just give us one minute we’ll leave you alone,” a photographer proposed.
The photographers then shouted at the pop star to ‘show your face’ while she attempted to shield it with her hand.
As Turner and Lipa walked hand-in-hand around the corner, the photographers continued their pursuit, prompting Lipa to shout, ‘please go away’.
The situation escalated when the paparazzi criticized her for covering her face, leading a man, reportedly affiliated with the restaurant, to use his hat to aid Lipa in concealing her face.
Realizing they wouldn’t obtain the desired photo, the paparazzi thanked Lipa before the video ended.
The photographers’ actions have sparked widespread backlash on social media, with many condemning their conduct as ‘deranged’ and ‘unhinged’.
“This has to be exhausting omg,” one comment reads, sympathizing with the couple’s ordeal.
Another criticized: “This is so disrespectful… When she’s working, she always poses for you, but she wasn’t working; she was having a moment with her fiancé and they asked you to step away more than once.
“You kept yelling at her… This video is really uncomfortable.”
“Respect their privacy. Damn,” added another commenter.
A multitude of online users echoed the sentiment that Lipa and Turner deserved some peace.
