A man who lost his ability to walk at the age of 20 has teamed up with his fiancée to share how they maintain intimacy in their relationship.
Neven Hart, who resides in Southern California with his fiancée Amber, was paralyzed from the waist down following a dirt bike accident when he was 20. He now uses a wheelchair, and Amber has been providing insights into their life together as they navigate the challenges of paralysis.
The couple frequently engages with their TikTok audience by answering questions, and last month they addressed a topic that many were curious about but perhaps hesitant to inquire.
The question posed was, “How does a paralyzed person engage in intimacy?”
Amber noted that a significant number of people were interested in this topic, prompting them to create an educational video, though she humorously cautioned family members to avert their eyes.
In the video, Neven shared that he utilizes an injectable substance at the base of his penis to achieve an erection.
Amber further mentioned that this injectable is not covered by insurance and costs $180 for two small vials.

The discussion then shifted to positions, with Neven playfully referring to himself as a ‘pillow princess’ while clarifying that he can assume positions other than lying on the bottom.
The couple dispelled the myth that Neven must always be lying down, explaining they received useful advice from the rehabilitation center where Neven was treated post-accident.
Neven demonstrated a device called the ‘intimate rider,’ a chair that facilitates motion through neck movements.
“You just move your neck, and it’ll move,” he detailed.
The chair is priced at $550, which Neven described as ‘worth every penny.’
Despite acknowledging the considerable expense of the injections and chair, they noted that it was simply part of their reality.
Neven confessed he hadn’t initially planned to create a video sharing his intimate tips, but he emphasized that if it ‘helps another guy,’ it would be valuable.
In an interview with Buzzfeed News, Amber explained their motivation came from the lack of information available when Neven first became paralyzed.
“Knowing what we know now, we are posting this information so we can help other young couples or individuals who are going through the same thing,” she stated.
The couple has been lauded for their openness and educational approach to their relationship, with many acknowledging the significance of their message.
One commenter wrote, “I have never seen this topic on the internet, this is so important. Thanks for sharing.”
Another person mentioned how the videos were beneficial, saying, “Thanks for the videos. My boyfriend is recently paralyzed and we are in the learning process!”
